typically, the white house tries to marginalize the protesters. but this time, they accepted the validity and just plain stated their position was to ignore them.
i'm not a big fan of the anti-war movement right now but there are reasons that are legitimate for getting arrested.
tacticly, arrest and civil disobedience has been a brilliant tool. unfortunately, i think of kids today don't understand it and it gets misused.
but do you think it makes more sense for people who have marched peacefully and been comletely ignored to continue with the same tactics now that people are dying?
