i work for APL, steamship/container line. im in chicago and i setup delivery of containers that come into chicago rail yards and deliver anywhere in IL. A lot of my stuff comes into the UP Global 1 because America just imports most of its crap from Asia. But over the last couple years, we've seen increased volume from Europe and the latin countries, so I've had a lot more stuff come into CSX in Bedofrd Park and on 59th street in Chicago. My main problem is the difficulty of getting the containers out of the rail, mainly because they have been put on CSX yard chassis, instead of one of the numerous APL chassis that we have available at both yards. Trcukers complain about not being able to find containers in those yards too, but i think some truckers are just lazy. so i have lots of problems with stuff taht comes into the CSX, delivery appts are late or missed, and customers yell at me.
im not a fan of CSX, but nothing personal against you. nice to see someone else in the industry
