I'm against the death penalty in the first place, but this is really fucked up:

Despite pleas from the White House and the State Department, as well as an international court order to review their cases, Texas will execute five Mexicans on death row, a spokeswoman for the governor said Thursday. - James C. McKinley, Jr. New York Times

In a matter of international law,...

Best of wishes to your grandmother. I hope that you are okay as well.

As for the death penalty in Texas, they should realize that even Texas justice has to bow down to International Law. If the crime happened where I live, I would have still bowed to International Law. After all, they may see the bigger pictre of things. Secondly, the Texas State Court should realize that the World Court is only reviewing the case, not necessarily halting the executions permanently.

I must concoct exciting plans for this weekend. I'm thinking debauchery of some sort. Suggestions are welcome.

Update: How could I forget? My friend is having her annual karaoke blowout birthday party Saturday night. Hilarity will definitely ensue, and the forecast for debauchery looks promising, as well.

Yay, debauchery!
dannydmc:

Debauchery is ALWAYS a good thing; I've been getting plenty of it this summer, but I always want more smile

Damn, I need a part to go to

I'm pretty sure one of my coworkers wants to do me. So I bend over a lot in front of him. Is that wrong?

i dont have a problem with it. what fun is life if you cant fuck with other people?
astrokill:
It's wrong if you don't like him or are attracted to him, but wanted attention. If you do like him or are attracted to him, you can flirt a bit and see where it goes.

Hooray for me being all social and stuff these days. I even hung out with SGNY people last night, and I haven't done the SGNY thing in... 4 years? Yeah. I guess I was on sabbatical from my life, but I'm trying to get things back to normal.

Just wondering about BigPoppa99's comment myself. I think they're a great crowd. biggrin

and hopefully, it won't be the last SGNY thing you do.

I might be surprised by who would show. Who would grieve most outwardly. Who would feel more than he or she let on. Whose life would change. Who would be disturbed by an absence of change. Who would laugh (about something else, of course) at the wake.

And where would I be for all these surprises?

I need to be here to be surprised. As...

Now I know you're not telling me something but I don't really care about that, I want to know if you're ok and if I should do something, or if I even can, for that matter.
astrokill:
I understand what you mean. People are surprising. When you think of them as one way, they then act in a totally different way. Life is full of those surprises. As much as we like to think that life will "always be like this", it's never true. Are things looking bleak? Pull off that veil, and see it in another direction, things still surprise. smile

You will be fine. smile

I'm not sure whether last night made me feel better or worse. Let's just say things got "interesting." Don't feel like providing details. Just assume they would be salacious.
ferretbite:
I would have ended with a good old "if you know what I mean" right after "interesting". Classics like that never get old. Plus, salacious sounds like an annoying Star Wars character.

So yeah. Punch line.
nefaria:
Interesting? Salacious? Yes.

Better? Worse? ... Yes.

SPOILERS! (Click to view)

The only thing I've been able to come up with after replaying and analyzing it all day is that I'd do it again. Twice even. I don't know what that means.

Ugh. Nausea from adapting to new meds. So much confusion in my life. Heart palpitations. Loneliness. Fear.

Last night, as I was riding the subway home from work, the train suddenly stopped. We passengers rolled our eyes at another inconvenient subway delay. And then we heard the shaky-voiced announcement of the conductor: someone was under the train. Fifteen or so minutes later, an EMT walked through all the cars, explaining, "The individual under the train has... passed." During the next hour, police...

boxofficepoison:
Apparently this absolutely destroys the conductor driving the train too.

I was on the JMZ and it came off the tracks a bit and someone got really drunk and was stuck between the train and the platform, barely got him out in time. Scary.

that's really awful. i can't imagine how unsettling that was. haven't seen anything on the news. frown

I feel like there is something so fundamentally wrong with me that I will never be "right." I'm seeing my psychiatrist tomorrow and changing meds, because I cannot tolerate the sick, obsessive fantasies I have been having. I do not like being my own worst enemy.

Please, if you know or suspect that someone you care about is struggling with depression, be there to listen...

Some days I'm in the mood to talk to strangers, and today was one of those days. I was strolling in Manhattan and found a friendly stranger to stroll with for 15 minutes or so. When Friendly Stranger and I parted ways, I gave him a hug, and he commented, "I love your fragrance!" I simply said "thank you" and refrained from elaborating, "It's Eau...
