I still find it odd, though... I find programming a lot easier than paper-writing, but then again I've always been a bit odd.

Thanks dude. I'm really pleased with it. Such a simple bit of component replacement I'm baffled as to why I didn't think of it sooner. I do wish I'd had some solvent to clean up the metalwork though. There still remains some of the old adhesive pushing it slightly out of shape but it's totally workable. Maybe when the battery starts losing capacity I can go back in and clean up.
