I can hardly wait to see my family next week...

Usually it's such a pain in the ass to find coverage at work for those two measly days -- and the drive isn't bad but it's no picnic either, with Crow in tow --

But this year, circumstances have dictated that I will be in LA from late Wednesday night to early Monday morning.

I hope you're having a great time with your family! We'll have to get together for something (anything!) when you get back.

you know that if you'd been up here, i wouldn't have bothered with that post - i'd've just called you.

...but as it happened, no one took me up on my silly, liscentious offer. but i did get to take the motorcycle to work, so i had fun anyway. smile

Hi! It looks like we got stuck in the city for the night; what are your room rates?

Out of earshot, I told you that you didnt need to think of things to say, especially not to a hotel clerk. I figured they were the last people you needed to lie to.

I cant help it. It feels like I just need to say something....

i suppose i've been busy working on that stupid website for jerks.

hey: this morning my buddy called me and i realized for the first 45 seconds of a phone conversation i'm usually angry. then i "cool out". i cooled out enough to buy him a donut and then drive to his house for coffee and a bagel. then i insisted we watch all the silly things tivo recorded for him since i don't get to watch TV unless i'm at one of two places, neither which are my place. then we watched _finding nemo_ on dvd. then he broke his toilet so we went and bought a replacement part at Longs. i wanted to buy unpopped popcorn, but couldn't find any, so i bought a box of raisins, which was sweet, not salty. i guess i wanted something salty. *yawn* i wish there was a *yawn* smiley.

So when are you getting PUBLISHED? wink

How have things been with you?

a little horny I see??

I am so glad i am not going through that anymore wink
thatmikeguy:
YES! SF is the place to be! : )

seriously... I'm loving it... it's like being plugged into an i.v. but without the annoying needle thing ; ) heh... that sure makes it appealing.

And yeah, I was in an artist co-op after I got out of college for about 2 1/2 yrs. If you got residency you got a studio for free and reduced gallery commission percentage for work sold out of the gallery. Of course, even with those benefits, I could barely pay for standard living expenses (food, gas, rent) and even rent wasn't really an option for a while there so I just slept in my studio. Later we opened a coffee-shop, which turned into a resturant, which I managed. At that point I got free food, and slept in the studio, so I pretty much lived there. It was a 130 year old downtown building, so it got a little spooky to sleep in at times ; )

p.s. this was in KY... unfortunately I doubt there are any places here with that kind of altruistic artist aid program : (

What little things about every day life do you equate with (the ever-elusive) Love?

For example:

Some people think exchanging confidences = love

Others may feel introductions to friends/family = love

One friend I knew was convinced that bean burritos = love

As for myself:

If you cook for me without being asked, I will assume you love me. (I will also love you,...

Love is very deceiving...
Someone does something to make you feel great, and your brain says "dude, is that love?" and you reply "I think that... maybe it is!"
Then you realize someone was just being nice to you, and when you climb up the lattice armed with flowers and sonnets you feel silly.

vutek:
how come more people haven't explored the minutia of everyday gestures of love, in list format, in your journal? frown

20things... Yes! Send me details when you know, but i'll keep the 19th free.

I'm glad you're feeling stirrings of a revolution too : )

I've been doing a ridiculous number of random social outings this weekend already.... kept me off the site. If you ever want to just go out, you're welcome to come along... although they're kind of random and mostly social, but that usually means good conversations at least. Anyway... let me know if you're interested.

My first. High school.

He wrote me letters constantly; folding them into complicated origami triangles, and signing them "Tamien". He was born on Sol -- was a prince there, actually -- and he was in love with me. Never mind that he lived in a shithole that reeked of cat spray and dirty socksI loved him, too. He was my best friend at the time....
