Portland, OR.

Passed by Devil's Point.

Ready to pass out in my new room.

No furniture, but I have wifi.

Ok, SG-PDX - show me what you got!

Went to Devil's Point tonight. Time difference from East Coast is catching up with me. It's only 1 AM here. Actually, happy 1:05!

Watching The Eagles/Vikings on MNF. (Correction: watching the Eagles kick the Vikings' ass!)

Black Hills, Wyoming, Little Big Horn, Continental Divide, bad coffee, great trip.

Wow. I did not realize you were jumping up and leaving like that. Holy cow.

Indeed. I do like my parents. Very much so in fact. That is what makes all of this so hard. Since the disease has struck my mother, she has become someone else. I do not like that person one bit, and to me, in many aspects she is already dead. But before that, definitely. They are two of the most amazing people in the world to me, and I consider myself beyond fortunate to have lived under their roof. My father has done some changing over the past year, and I do not like what the year has done to him. But it has been a rough year, and I know his heart. That at least has not changed. They are awesome.

Wow, it sounds like your family is completely a different story though?

Rapid City, SD.

Went thru Badlands National Park this afternoon. Cursed or not, it was amazing. I am now well into the Mountain time zone, and way past exhausted.

(Not exhausted enough to keep the computer off, but hey) smile

I didn't have access at my hotel last night - even though the chain promotes "high-speed internet access" in every room, every location. Bull shit. All...

Hey! I'm in Toledo, OH. Well, I'm west of Toledo, just east of the Indiana border. It is VERY exciting.

Actually, the sunset was really nice - and the room at the Holiday Inn Express w/ wifi is just, well, WAY TOO BIG.

Tomorrow: The big decision. I-90 up into the Dakotas, or I-80 through Iowa (and eventually Utah to Oregon). HillaryWallace has already voted...

Yeah, I've read Quicksilver and The Confusion, and I wait on bated breath for the third installment. He signed my copy of Quicksilver. They are quite good, though I admit a weak spot for serious historical fiction.

Immanentizing the eschaton is a handy phrase that I originally borrowed from Robert Anton Wilson's Illuminatus! trilogy and the Principia Discordia and have subsequently noticed in a number of places. It is the old heresy that the end times are irrelevant and that heaven can be created on Earth. Delicious.

Cheers for the nice character reference for getting into SGUK. smile smile
