I'm in Winnipeg! Which is apparently the land of no wireless internet. The place we're staying has no access and I haven't been able to find any unsecured wireless to "borrow". Right now we're sitting in a restaurant that has internet access and we're all rapidly typing away and trying to catch up on what we've missed the past few days.
I just bitched out a very "pretty" couple when I went to pick up some lunch at the Tim Hortons next to work. It's a busy place so it has a long line that runs across the store and leads to both registers. I was next in line and there were another 3 or 4 people between... Read More
ha! dream-you is hilarious. i love remembering very clear bits of dreams like that; i usually can recall large, vivid parts but not clearly what was said. dream conversations are the most odd.
I traveled to Vancouver Island this past weekend for a little vacation. Also, there just happened to be a marathon from Tofino to Ucluelet at the same time. People seemed to enjoy my last half marathon report so here's the marathon run down.
Love the report song by song. Great time too. I'm running my first marathon on July 29th in San Francisco. Just did 22 miles this morning. Longest run ever. I'll be putting my playlist together soon and may poach and idea or two from you.
I guess I've been doing stuff that's interesting enough to write about...
Fringe!
This summer I get to spend 6 weeks traveling to exotic cities and performing Scorpio's Fringe show Sacrilicious! written by danny_g. And by "exotic" I mean Winnipeg, Saskatoon, Calgary and Edmonton. I'll put up more show performance info once it becomes available, but for now here's a blurb.
yeah... when Pearl got here I made her walk with me to the nearest liquor store and we bought a merlot from chile... ended up not being my style...
I am such an australian wine-whore.
I think there is a special circle of hell for those of us who drink a bottle of wine while watching, say, "Flushed Away" but I guess that's the price I pay for a good life.
- I'm pretty sensitive to vibrations. There has been construction in front of the store for the past two weeks (and will likely still be there for many more). It has been shaking the store and vibrating the counters like crazy at times. Today they were cutting into the sidewalk in front of the store and I... Read More
Nothing good can coe from yams.
And OT playoff hockey is the best hockey.
oh, and... Stupid Buffalo!!!
and... Stupid Detriot. If things keep up this way it's going to be another lame Stanley Cup.
This past Sunday I ran the same half marathon that I've done for the past 6 years. I find it kind of funny that while I've done 9 marathon/ultramarathons on 5 different courses, I've only ever raced one half course. Probably not that interesting to anyone not running obsessed...
So I thought I'd write about the race from a little different perspective this year.
Yesterday I drove myself the 300 km north to Edmonton to join carla, pearlygirl and FreakPirate in a hair dyeing adventure! I arrived at 3:30 p.m. and played some Guitar Hero with FreakPirate. Then carla arrived and the adventures in colour began! She helped me decide on a combination of colours that I can only describe as "pretty". Seriously, it's all spring appropriate. Then,... So please, please, please
let me, let me, let me,
let me get what I want
this time
More later. Maybe.
Edit: I really planned on updating this tonight. It was going to be light and happy. I wasn't going to talk about hockey or any of the other things that are currently contributing to my melancholy.
Dear Flames,
Please turn down the suck. Seriously. Last night you looked like you didn't care at all. Now, I can forgive you for this but... I'd really like you to beat the Red Wings. Especially on Tuesday.
Please?
This week was interesting and I have pictures to prove it.
Where to start?
Saturday, March 31st
Wrapped up The Three Musketeers. Went to the cast party. Didn't drink a thing, but instead was amused by the antics of others. Oh, and I had a tickle fight with danny_g. I totally won.
Work doesn't actually have a no-visible-piercings-or-tattoos policy. Admittedly, I'm the only one on staff with piercings (there are a few others with tattoos - all girls, come to think of it). It also helps that I'm any good at my job. Things like dress code get forgotten about when your doing well at what they actually hired you for.
If the nerds go home at any sort of a reasonable time, phone or text message or something and we'll let you know where we are.
