it seems that i have passive observation skills: i'll notice something, but i may not realize what i've noticed until later.

Thanks for the reply and not being offended smile

I`m impressed that it only took 6 hours to write. I hear you about your points, fair enough.

I did mean it about sending it to a writing competition. That is the sort of story that wins because its hard hitting and the subject is an important one.

I write myself, though different stuff, and I`m working on a novel that is going about 2 miles an hour, but it is going. Its all fantasy based stuff (swords and sorcery).

So where can I read other stories of yours?

keep well

biggrin
silveronthetree:
I think we all have passive observation skill, and if you are lucky you have active brain functions on passive observation.

What I mean is this:

You need to buy cat food. You are at the shop but for some reason you don`t buy any. When you get home there is plenty of cat food.

So your brain half noticed someone had bought some and made you forget to get some at the shop, all without your knowledge. This is a bit of a weak example but it seems to happen to me all the time. biggrin

my short story: hollow

i finally got off my ass and put "hollow" up on my website.

**SPOILERS - READ THE STORY BEFORE READING THIS**

i like it. i think it conveys what i want it to convey. it's not perfect, 'cause no story is ever perfect, but you try writing a time spiral. it'd probably be a lot easier to do it in a...

God, I love it when someone lists Alphonse Mucha as one of their favorite artists.

haven't seen many on here. I think theres an SG on here with Mucha tat.

So a friend of mine who knew i enjoyed Buffy and Angel suggested i read the Anita Blake series. i picked up Guilty Pleasures which i'm assuming is the first one and am having a hard time getting into it.

Not sure if its becuase its not Buffy (which is fine) or that i read an Anne Rice book before i started reading this one. perhaps the different writing styles is whats throwong me off.

But i really think its more of dialog thing. I don't find the way Anita talks to be believable. Its almost obnoxious. maybe it gets better over the next few books as Hamilton writes the characters more.

I dunno.

anyway....Hi.

so, this past weekend, jon finally finished playing parasite eve. woohoo! now all he's gotta do is play the ex game and he'll have finished it (which, if any of you have played the ex game, you know that beating parasite eve the first way through means you're not even halfway through being done with the game in its entirety). ah, the chrysler building... memories......

glad to hear at least some of your classes are good. i think art makes everything better. i'm taking an art class too!! yay!! it makes the semester bearable. oh and mrs. hall was just a crazy old bat. the other art teacher was better.

btw we need to get together, i miss you love.
decedent:
i liked parasite eve a lot. the second one..not so much. i wish there'd be a sequel, but it looks like square is content with leaving a lot of their series of the past alone. we're lucky enough to get another musashi.

That song is really sad but i suppose poignant? hmmm it just feels like a song that has 'meaning' or a strength to it that I can't quite pin down.
Tomorrow, shopping? are you crazy? it's fucking snowing outside!!!

i talked about resident evil 4 a couple entries ago... so i feel the need to link to this penny arcade comic. though, it's not actually about resident evil 4. but watching chris and anthony play resident evil 4 reminded me of this comic. why? because you shoot birds and they drop jewels and stuff, and when you kill villagers armed with pitchforks they...

Punisher was alright I guess (dont know if youve ever read the comics.....but The guy in the movie was alot more....um.....subtle than the comic Punisher)
Thats an interesing quote....though kinda sad. It seems romance is dying a lil more each day....and I am very much so a romantic frown

i thought i'd share that exerpt from the book i'm reading right now. i read that part the other night, and it really hit home with me. it resembles an internal debate i have with myself on a regular basis. i'm a romantic at heart, and it's difficult to escape that, though i seem to definitely be trying to as of late. is it working? pffft, probably not.

That really hit home with me, it's nice to know I'm not the only person dealign with that struggle. Thanks. smile

on monday, i hung out with a friend from high school, joey. we watched badder santa and had a bit to drink. that movie was fucking hilarious!! we were laughing our asses off. it was nice to see joey again; it'd been a long time since we last hung out.

marcus: more booze, more bullshit, more butt-fucking.
willie: sure, the 3 b's.

Dude, for some reason my hands and toes are ALWAYS warm, but my butt is cold. What the hell? And, no one would ever let you put your butt on them to warm it up: "Hey, could I put my butt on your torso to warm it up?" They should invent butt socks. Or butt warmers, which are like leg warmers (also in pastel or neon colors) and worn all frumpy around the waist.

yesterday i went up to Chameleon's, and i just got home like an hour ago. it was fun. i spent most of it watching chameleon and Freon play resident evil 4. it's a cool game. ada is hot lol. though i think i'm spoiled by games like doa, because the thought that kept going through my head when i watched her was, "she's hot,...

jon turned 21 on the 17th. it was cool. he had a little party on sunday with a bunch of his friends. we played games and stuff, and we watched real genius, because that movie rocks, and it seems that our friends from college hadn't seen the movie before. then, on monday, his actual birthday, jon and i went to dave & busters and hung...

hey thanks so much for the birthday wishes. i appreciate it. i had never seen your profile before, but i just looked at it a bit and some of your pictures and you are really gorgeous. but to move on to your journal entry. real genious IS amazing. i love that movie. i love it at the end when the blond physics major is standing in the house about to be filled with popcorn and he arches his back and lifts his arms behind his head as much as possible, it is the most hillarious thing ever! also, laslow holly, not sure if thats actually his name in the movie, but something like that, is uncle rico in napoleon dynamite.

but once again, thanks for the wishes. mind if i add you as a friend?
