I think 28 Days Later came out here in the cinema in November. Got a bit of a cult following here at the moment, just as Trainspotting and Lock Stock did in thier day. While the we do get the UK films released quickly, many of them are really crap and there's not all that many of them. The Hollywood ones can come out anywhere between a month to six months later here.
Piccadilly normally looks like this, usually busier at the weekends

The usual thing for kids to do over here is hang around bus stops in groups talking and attempting to look cool and menacing, preferably with some beer (Or alcopops nowdays) blagged from an unscrupulous offie. Yep, I went through that phase for a few months. The shame!

28 Days Later is such a great film. Since I got it on dvd, I've seen it about a dozen times.
The beginning in London's deserted streets affects me the most. I lived in London for 22 years, travel there every week day and know how bloody busy it is. And then seeing it empty and silent is just freaky. Still makes me uneasy seeing the city like that, especially Picadilly, that place is jammed day and night usually.
I think I'll watch it again tonight.
