Although I used to love pirates, now I'm starting to hate them. Only two nights and counting to write up my story for the weekend, and there's *so* much to do... frown

On a completely different not, I'm thinking about taking all my hair off this month before I go to Barcelona. Getting a bit thin on top and it's a pain in the arse to...

about '88 was the year I cut off all my hair - all 22 inches of "classic" mohawk. Took a lot of guts to do it but raised about 500 for the local kids' hospice. Plus it was a pain in the arse to keep looking good, and training oneself to sleep on one side biggrin

see you on Friday?
kinto:
Barcelona? Lucky you, I wish I'd be back there!!

K

PS: for the hair, cut it shorter first, to get used to it. Then even shorter if you feel like it. It's easier that way!

Hmm well it's 1.30 and I'm still up. Unfortunately I'm still sober too. Oh well... frown

On the geek side of things, today's V:TES event took forever and the final dragged out until nearly 10.00pm. Came third myself in the end, which was better than last week. Win goes to the Setites though the sleazy buggers. Hung around for a few beers and played some weird...

Well first of all I'd like to say that Underworld (the movie) rocks big time. I don't care if it's slightly derivative, or if it's copying White Wolf, it's f***ing damn cool and I loved it. Vampires, werewolves, double-crossing, intrigue, techno/gothic/punk imagery, and of course lovely Kate in PVC. Hell what more could a horror-geek-fanboy possibly want? biggrin I hear there's a sequel called Bloodlines already...

Tsk after having a bunch of other people I know whinge about cold/flu illness, I now seemed to have picked it up myself. Guess that's my punishment for enjoying myself at the weekend. Argh I hate being ill frown
big_dave:
I think there'll be several of us going from work in a busman's capacity in order to look down our noses and try acting all superior, whilst withering with envy inside biggrin
kinto:
Been spared so far so I'm not complaining smile

Just roused myself after a night of too much beer with the SGUK crowd. Pretty cool bunch and I'm glad I had enough guts in the end to go meet them.

Passing on the Suhi bar to stay in the pub sounded like a grand idea at the time. Except that as I hadn't eaten *anything* after about 6 pints I was feeling a little...

Nice meeting you on Friday. Enjoyed the meet up despite buggering off early. Heh, drinking on an empty stomach can be a killer sometimes. Done that a fair few times myself. Sorry to hear about your top, not the best way to end the night.
big_dave:
thought about you today, though not in a sexual way.... biggrin

no, because that LOTR exhibition opened today at the science museum. I'm going to have to go, just to kick myself in the arse even more about not going out to NZ to work on the films mad

Just enjoying a quiet moment here on Sunday morning. Unfortunately I gotta spend most of the day moving shit around, tidying the garden and fixing some dodgy wallpaper as the surveyor is coming on Tuesday to evaluate the house.

Trying to fight off the temptation to write some fiction for White Wolf, as I have enough on my plate at the moment as it is....

Oh yeah, just noticed the 'one minute silence' on your bands list... My sister got felt up by Glen Diani on stage in Mcr a few years ago. Not one of my better claims to fame, sorry.. blush
big_dave:
good to meet you tonite.... see, we're not all so weird once you find us in the flesh biggrin

Yay just back from a few relaxing days in France. Caught with my pa - haven't actually been over there for about 3 years or so (although I have seen him a few time in between). As usual didn't have much to say to each other but nice to hang out and sample the local food and drink (quite a lot of the drink actually)....

Hey,

I always like to think of it by the old slacker maxim:

Poetry is easy, novels is hard.

With my life the way it is at present I could do with a holiday. No chance.

Maybe when I'm a bestseller.
mexicant:
i noticed you list deftones as one of your fav bands. i can' really recommend any new metal, but how about some classic hardcore? you could look up some helmet, stryfe,or if you can find it, strain. their here & now album is still one of my favs. 7 years and it's still in my cd changer.

Just bought Chevelle's CD just out over here in the UK. Sounds like someone stuck Tool and the Deftones in a blender, and I can't decide whether I like it that much or not, tsk bok

I was actually looking for Breed77, but there isn't a shop in the whole of bloody London that's got them in stock! mad
tattva:
Not much is new here.....Just getting back into the swing of things. I just picked up Liar of the Hidden, haven't started reading it yet though. It'll be interesting to see what kind of spin WW puts on the Iconnu. I may get that new Clan Novel chronilogical order thing they're putting out soon. I know it's repititious and I'm probably just lining their pockets but It'll be interesting to see it all roll out day by day.
nogodsnomanagers:
are you offering positive thoughts?
or telling me to be positive?
either way, thanks for the advice, i feel a teeny bit better already
if you think london's crap for music you should come here
certainly no breed77

Ok time for that weekly update! Not much to report other than I am buried in gaming stuff, and slowly weaviling my way through to the heart of White Wolf Publishing Inc. I will rule the planet (err, well at least the games industry) one day bok

Contemplating shaving all my hair off, as TBH I am damn sick of it. Just trying to summon enough...

Ugh. I'm melting. Brain evaporating. Got hardly any sleep due to heat nastiness over the weekend. Grappled with Acrobat Distiller for several hours and then got stuck on a train for several hours more. Still no money, and no end in sight. Argh...
grievousangel:
Just came back in after a few too many pints, but I will engage your questions regarding my brother's demise shortly.

Hope your heatwave passes soon.

Pretty amazing how I can sit in front of the Internet all day every day and yet still have a struggle to find time to fill in my online journals, tsk... confused

Last weekend was cool. Small party on Friday (plus wine and sex). Much chilling (plus a bbq and some games) at my place on Saturday. More chilling on Sunday, spoiled only by a stupidly...

Another weekend flies by, tsk I seem to be constantly losing track of time. Managed to finally catch up on some sleep yesterday (Sunday) which is nice.

Saw Buffalo Soldiers on Friday - man it's so funny everyone really needs to go see it before it disappears. Also hung out and got down and dirty with my old friend again. Also had a ddep chat...

Good luck with the house. I've had some less serious but equally annoying niggles of late myself.

You'd be surprised how few women see it that way.
tattva:
What do you mean you knew all about WW's big announcement?? I'm jealous of your sources.
