So another quarter is nearly at its end, and another Thansgiving is rolling into view.

I am thankful that I am almost done with school, and doubly thankful that I am, as yet, still enjoying it.
I am thankful that I have such a wonderful woman in my life, and I am thankful that we share our home.
I am thankful for my health, and...

But I really was drinking tequila! Actually, I just started taking Lithium and it's been making me insane... and yet I still drank the tequila.

I'm not usually so emotionally invested... I always oppose those who I perceive as "bullies" but I don't usually "care."

Not sure what that is all about but I am hoping I get over it.

Yes, I just thought I would include that for the less, er, OBSERVANT readers in the forum.

Wow, first new post since March 15th? I suck.

Summer was great. I worked my ass off in a warehouse, but it was a nice warehouse. It is the storage/fulfillment center for the educational publishing company where my girlfriend works.

Nerd cards has been lame lately. Nobody here cares. biggrin

RPG'ing nerdishness has been great, and passing out trick-or-treat candy is going to be FUN! My...

biggrin It is very difficult to argue with people who need the simplistic, I understand. I just forget with that particular issue because it irks me. It would be nice if the boards were a bar, I think that would be an interesting but long...long conversation.

I agree that mathematically speaking it would probably add jibber jabber wocky to the conversation; since the details are stretching back a very long time.

Of course, I'm also of the opinion that we just don't know yet; with regards to what "animals" wink are thinking. Liv

Something else that is a complete aside but did you read any of the articles about Amazon parrots and dialects? I found that stuff fascinating.

I guess I just don't see what you have. For years on this site, Christians and SUV drivers were persecuted. Now it seems to be funny that there is so much venomous hatred towards Christianity and the claim is that Athiests have been persecuted the entire time. Now, I have been gone for a year or so but I know one thing- it is not in any way, popular to be a Christian here.

I don't believe that most Christians in the ELCA are hateful and divisive and homophobic. My congregation is not the only one that preaches tolerance. My grandparents were midwesterners who were raised to be tolerant, kind, compassionate, and loving of their fellow man and they moved to the West Coast in '66. My grandfather walked his family out of a church that preached about segregation and racism and said it wasn't "Christian" and that he wouldn't be a part of it. Several families followed him.

There will always be good and bad in everything. My family taught me that no matter what everyone is equal, everyone is a child of God, and we should see everyone as human. We may be flawed, we may be different, we may make different decisions in life, etc. but we are still the same human beings and there is more than just any one thing that defines us.

To be honest, my nChristian family has been the most liberal and compassionate example in my life. It's really frustrating to see people villify and write off something that has given me so much. I'm not a bible thumper, I don't even go to Church these days. I just know that to sit by and watch someone admonish something that has given me such peace is frustrating and hurtful.

I know that we will never agree and that's okay. I just want us to be able to have a discussion without someone asserting their superiority. Maybe you didn't intend that, but that is what I've felt.

Woooooo! School's out, school's out! Teachers let the 33-year-old doofus out! Doofus got a job for the summer, because doofus has one of the best (if not THE best!) girlfriends in the world.

Anyhow, 'nuff said, be well, if no comments it just means I'm workin' hard or funnin' hard. It is summer break, after all!!! *neener-neeners at "real" grown-ups*

So it turns out that fiscal matters have resolved themselves to where I do not have to carefully trim things like $18/season out of my budget. Phew.

Year 4 with my love has started. It is all kinds of likely that we will enter Year 7 married and in a nice place that she owns. Half of the time when I think about that it...

Ah, February. If everything goes according to plan, February is going to be the greatest month of the year for the rest of my life. As of the 24th, I will have been with Lauren for three years. And we still make fun of people who take Valentine's Day seriously. I love February.

X-mas has come and gone, and I had a wonderful time.

I hope you and yours had a great one, too, even if it was just December 25th.

SO... No longer an employee of the bar, but if you have to get fired, having a boss who basically tells you he won't tell anybody else you got fired is about the best you can hope for.

Here's to many happy returns, and here's hoping that '08 is at least as much fun as '07 was.

Here I go.

SPOILERS! (Click to view)

My best friend lost her grandfather two days ago. It hit me in a lot of ways how little I know my family, and how I did not know my grandparents at all. What hit me too was that I come from a family of failures, or people that never tried. I refuse to fall into that trap. I think it is something you learn from your environment to just allow yourself to grow stale or complacent if you do not see people trying for more. I had to shake myself from the genetic predisposition to be resigned to missing out on life.

As far as Hope. I have to say, it is what moves me more than anything. When you see people who you think have nothing, and they just keep pushing, and going-that hope. It makes me want to cry. Its so incredible the life we are given, and the fact that there is always a little bit more, if you have Faith and Hope.

Take care of yourself. You know where to find me if you ever want to chat.

meow:
From what I've heard, Heath has done an impressive job and taken the role very seriously. I'm stoked to see it.

What a weekend so far. Old co-worker had a party, party had drama, we left the party.

Still looking forward fondly to December 4th and a temporary cessation of responsibility.

It's raining, and it's going to be cold, but we're still heading out to my old workplace's Christmas party. Here's hoping the holiday season is not causing undue stress or negativity to any of my...
