The 12 gauge kicks like a mule and I love it. Fired off a couple rounds yesterday up at my grandparents house. I bought some ear protection so I wouldn't have to keep using foam ear plugs.
Also...#2 bird shot is pretty cheap. They have boxes of 100 for $20 at Walmart. I'm going to stock up.
