Let's review.

Mixed drinks go in highball glasses, with 1 oz. (or a four count if your pouring) of whatever alcohol. A highball used to be a drink on its own, but has since become a type of glass.

"On the Rocks" drinks are served in much shorter glasses. If someone orders a Gimlet, they must specify whether they want Vodka or Gin.
A Cosmopoliton...

I wanted to be a bartender. It would be such a kick ass job. Any suggestions on what schools to check out for bartending certification?

So last night the Song Airlines Lounge at Fashion Week turned into an open bar. We started serving at 6:00 PM and went until 9:00.
I knew right away that I was in a bad mood when people came by earlier in the afternoon asking for the free promo stuff we'd been handing out the past couple of days. Normally, I like giving that stuff...

so how was the party? what did i miss?
legionnaire:
Dear god, 4 subways? That sounds horrific. Who would have thought it would ever be so difficult to get from Bushwick to Park Slope?

And yeah, everyone agrees, the gatorade and vodka was not a good idea.

I'm not sure if the guy you described with the camera is the guy I'm thinking of. The reason why I ask is because there's one guy who sort of sounds like that who wants to get in SGNY, but there's been some misgivings about him. So I figured if that was him, that would seal the deal. But it doesn't sound like it (there have been some prior problems with camera-happy creepy guys. Use your imagination.)

Well, I know I was bitching about working at the Song Airlines lounge at Fashion Week, but they actually got some extra tickets to one of the fashion shows and I got to sit front row while models catwalked just feet away from me.
Now I can say on good authority: Some of these women are downright unattractive. If anyone ever needed any proof that...

Welcome to SGNY! I didn't know your username so I didn't get a chance to comment earlier (and I've been out of town since Burlesque.) Anyway dinner was fun, i'm glad you got a chance to come and hang out.
hellynn:
haaa surely us models arent all that bad

Note to self: Don't build things up to be cool when you have no idea what they're going to be like. Don't fantisize, don't create cool details that probably won't exist, don't get fired up when you could be waaaaay off.

Yesterday, I started my week long job as "wing man" at Fashion Week. Song Airlines is a sponser, so they have a lounge at...

The SG show was great. Much funnier than I expected it to be.
The funniest thing of all, though, is that the SG girl that I wanted to meet the most was the very first person I have ever met through the website. In a cosmic sort of way, that is cool. I am too tired from last night's party to write much.

Get thyself to SGNY and apply already.

It may take a few days, but I'm sure you'll have no problem.

A letter to the girl I have yet to meet, if she in fact exists:

Please give it to me. Please make me the mix. Make me the mix that will make me realize I love you becuase of your taste in music. You know I haven't been in a committed relationship with a girl in almost two years. The last one, the last girl...

I am only leaving this story up for two days so the people who check my journal regularly will see it. There's too many stigmas associated with this profession I am discussing. And I should know. I make fun of it on a regualr basis.

I have done some things in my life. I have jumped out of an airplane with another person strapped to...

Holy crap that would be a scary thing to do.
The only "modeling" i've done was for a local pin up mag, and after two tequila shots there was no pressure at all. Congrats though for getting through it!

Fucking A, posted a comment on my own by mistake.

It had finally happened! I am to be a professional wingman! Yes!

I am to lounge around in the uhh, lounge . . . area sponsered by Song airlines at Fashion Week in New York.

All I do is go up and talk to people and try to make the area look cool. I always knew I had it in me. Now, when people ask...

Do you stay where it's safe, or do you risk it to do something that might pay off. I am here in Providence for the weekend. I used to live and work here only four months ago. I had a job I loved at a small production house. Back in the day, we spent a lot of time watching DVD's (my boss has, I swear,...

I am inspired to get things done. Finally getting work done on an music video that I proposed to "And You Will Know Us By The Trail of The Dead." I have tons of concert footage I took with those guys, so I found an illustrator and am getting it done. That's not really that interesting, but this is my journal so what the heck....

That party's going to work out fine. If it had been the 7th things would have been crazy busy that weekend, but I still would have found time to make it out.

Postal Service kicks ass.

I have your cds, packaged and sitting in my car, I just have to find time to hit up Mail Boxes Etc., oh wait, it's now called The UPS Store. I'm not lazy, things have been too hectic to stop off. I'm at least that one step closer to getting them to you.

Now that I think about it, the ending to 'Lolita' did suck. The rest of the book was good.
minimalism:
You said, "dizzam." That's too funny. I adjusted my schedule to Manhattan, not Brooklyn for your party. I love that yours is an Anti Valentine's Day party too. It should be very interesting.

Well, still no internet access so I have to use my friend's every few days. How can I peruse all the good SG stuff? At least I am going to the Burlesque show. I am now reading Lolita and it's really something. What something, I don't have the adjectives yet to say, as I am not even half way through. It makes me realize that...
