Did I hear a rumor that after one New York winter you're already leaving? I certainly hope not. Snow can be annoying, admittedly, but its aesthetic appeal (at laest while it's falling) can't be denied.

Sorry to say my exploits in Europe haven't really involved much of the fairer sex. Might have something to do with my two fairly codependent companions who are both pining for their girlfriends whenever they're gone. Oh well, plenty of good looking women in New York, I suppose.

i feel the same about rowing, as you do about swimming. it's so gorgeous, but i can't believe anyone actually does it. i have a friend whose exgirlfriend was on the US olympic team that went to sydney. these chicks are amazons. whoa.

it is true about the 14 yr old girls though - the guys i hang out with, who are in the top 20 nationally in the 30-40 age group, practice with the kids and struggle to keep up. it's really an amazing sport.

Oh man, that sucks. Computer problems are the worst - time sinks without end. If it's still not fixed by the time I get back, let me know, I have a knack for fixing those things.

My profile use to say Pet Groomer, Woodworker, and Artist. But I haven't done any professional pet grooming in forever and the same goes with the woodworking. The artist part is always in progress. More like crafting than art sometimes.

Aside from the fact that I was having a rather boring night the other day, I think I came upon your profile when I was posting stuff on the boards and most likely you had said something interesting so I went to investigate...that's usually how I look at random people...but the pics were an added bonus. And I am not REALLY an SG Hopeful...I was looking for a friend's pics. Something about posting nude pics on the web just doesn't do much for me...Too chicken I guess... I had totally forgot that show was going to be on...I will have to watch it next week...

You didn't miss much after you left - it was a very low-key SGNY outing, at least as far as I could tell. Maybe things got more exciting later, I bailed kind of early in the interest of getting sleep.

That's so funny that you know where "You got the touch" is from. I think the last time I saw Transformers: The Movie was at a birthday party in the fourth grade, so it's been a while. Maybe I should rent it again? I was admiring the animation cells as well though, they fit the decor of the bar nicely.

I've been to that place too. I was really close with this girl it felt like a sure thing but nothing happened it was strange because she was so persistent to have me visit.

Norway, huh? For some reason I feel like I'd be intimidated by 6 foot tall beautiful blonde girls. Not that I wouldn't be attracted to them...

We're thinking 5 days of skiing, 5 days of sight seeing and a few days to just chill and enjoy life. Sounds about right to me. My friends are kind of crazy aggressive skiers so I don't know if I could handle any more than that anyway.

As for SGNY events - actually, I feel like the couple of times I've shown up not knowing a single person is when I've met the most people. I'm sure you'll be fine. But you should come hang out on Saturday afternoon if you can, it looks like we'll be doing our thing once more.

The photo shoot turned hardcore right after I stopped paying attention, apparently. I saw Matt and Helen come in and was just talking to them, not even looking at what was being projected on the wall, when Helen said "look, it's a porno." I looked up and some guy was holding a girl upside down and they were 69ing... I figured that was kind of sketchy, and it went downhill from there.

We missed you at the magazine thing, hope all is well. It gets me insane when I see people speaking to young children in other languages, I have no problem with embracing your heritage, I just think people should work harder to assimilate. There is a difference between cultural pride and being practical. Some will give the argument that half the world speaks language X, or that in other countries people are bilingual I have news for you this isnt half of the world, or another country its America, speak whatever you want on your own time but when in public make an effort to speak the language of the land.

It's odd to me to think of Joy Division as melancholy. I guess I can't deny that some of their songs are moody and dark, but they had a lot of up beat tracks as well.

Friday night was pretty good, fairly small and it was a mixed SG/non-SG crowd, which I think helped to keep things on the tamer side. I didn't stay very late on Saturday, I had told some other friends I would hang out with them instead, which turned out to be a big mistake since their party sucked, and I heard the SGNY party was fun.

And I dig the "underground intellectuals" idea, I'm all for it.
