good luck with sobriety. remember two things: take it one day at a time, and don't drink.

Sobriety can be very tough. Usually requires a change in people, places and things which is really hard and is a major deterrent in achieving it. Others can help. like AA or others who have quit.

My old sax player is in a band of all AA and NA people and it's great, because they can go to bars and be cnfident they won't drink. Strength in numbers.

You're still here cause you aren't ignored. And did you try to tell the other person you were joking around? And there are also shallow people who only want shallow friendships. No deep talks, no real attachment. It sucks, they're stupid. You should do some walking instead of being walked on, use them to accomplish your goals. Make them DD or play taxi, go out with them and forget your wallet.

I hate the pay you earn working at a bookstore, but the experience is really great (or so it was for me). I met a lot of cool, like minded people, and got a TON of great book and music recommendations. I quit my bookstore job over six months ago and i'm still sorting through all the recommendations.
