Teslin is a tiny fucking place. But man... did they ever go out of their way to make us feel welcome. The only sign in the whole town was advertising our concert.... Read More
Things start out a little off. We get to the university a bit later than expected because my roommate got trashed the night before and wasn't... Read More
I'm currently sitting in the hallway outside of my hotel room in Fort Nelson, BC. I'm sitting out here so I don't wake up misguided and Mike. Look at how thoughtful I am...
The trip is going well. The concerts have been good and apart from a bit of gongshowery here and there the rest of the tour has been fun. I promise I'll have... Read More
Okay... a quick update before I leave for 9 days. I'll try to update from the road but I'm not sure how much I'll be able to do. Internet access will be spotty and I'll be drunk busy most of the time.
Ten more hours of work. And then I'm done. DONE! Thank fuck. Tour starts on Saturday. I'm so excited. Hopefully I'll be able to steal internet here and there to bring you pictures and tales of madness.
Hockey, no matter who is playing, gives me a huge rush. I watched the Flames/Red Wings game and even though I hate both teams I still found myself... Read More
Now for complaining of an entirely different sort! Fuck snow. Seriously fuck it. Every time I foolishly believe that spring is here... BAM. Snow. I'm tired of being cold and damp and miserable. I want summer now.
And now since I have nothing new to report... I'm totally going to cop out on this entry.
I started wearing them in fourth grade. Right after that I recieved a viola and decided to major in English in college. Geek transformation complete! I wear them with pride.
I didn't get the job at West Ed. It looks like I'll be spending most of my summer in Fort McMurray. *sigh*
Today I'm going to see the other play my brother worked on for the Alberta One Acts Festival. While it will be awesome to see his work and to see him I don't really want to tell him his oldest brother is a... Read More
I can't believe I'm going to say "at your age" in this post, but it's appropriate...... God I really hope I don't sound patronizing.
You're further along then I was at your age. At 23 I was just moving up to D.C. and hadn't worked on a single production outside of my college campus. As long as you're still putting yourself out there to work on shows, you'll be doing just fine. One thing I've learned since I started in this biz (God, did I just say "biz"?) is that it takes a long time to build up a resume/.
That being said, if you ever want to come down and check out the theater scene down in the Capital of the Yankees, there's a couch for you and a party to be planned.
Life goes on as it always does. Work today was pretty much a fucking waste of time. I stood around for the first five hours doing nothing because the delivery truck was late showing up. Time just fucking crawls when there's nothing to do.
Now I'm sitting around listening to Alkaline Trio's "Remains" and reading "Fluke". So that's an improvement. Later... Read More
How's Fluke? I have it on my shelf, but haven't read it yet. Christopher Moore is pretty damned funny, I'll give him that. If you haven't read Lamb yet, do. It's fucking great.
Job hunting has been a success so far. I have an interview at West Edmonton Mall on Monday morning. I've been confirmed to do the census in Fort McMurray in May and June (provided I don't get the job at West Ed). I'm doing the Taste of Edmonton Festival again (again... if I'm not working at West Ed). I'm putting in my notice at Futureshop... Read More
Just think, now if the stadium does fall down you'll feel all bad for even thinking of the possibility.
I'll have to haunt you because it will be ALL YOUR FAULT!
And raise you with one of mine.
