I am settling into the year after the holidays. New Year's was a solo affair as usual. The one thing I did do was check out the floats from the Rose Parade in Pasadena.
After the floats was some time spent on my favorite bench in Redondo Beach.

I watched it on TV, and I'm always amazed how they create these floats from flowers! What a wonderful experience to see the them in person!

@libris They have people there that explain was is on the floats, but I wouldn't one type of flower from the next. A horticulturalist I am not. Most of the floats were built by volunteers if you are so inclined, so if you are ever this way in late December you have a new thing to do!🙂

It sounds like you had a great week! Did you enjoy Dune? I'm bummed I never went to a game this past season, and there's really no excuse considering I live maybe 15 minutes from the stadium. And there's no way I'm paying over a thousand to watch the Braves in the series when I can do it from the comfort of my home, and actually see the ball, lol. My mom and I were yelling at the TV like crazy people last night; we're hoping it's a repeat of 1995!

@libris I thought Dune was just okay. I will preface this by saying I have not read the book, but seeing another white Messiah figure on a planet of Black and brown people left me cold. World Series prices are crazy. They changed a lot of the pricing at Dodger Stadium for the playoffs as well. They don't make it easy to grow the fanbase. It was a good win for the Braves last night. I would have liked to see them finish off the no-hitter.
