The damage done dirrectly to my town was fairly minimal, however the town (Innisvale is aprox 1 hour drive away) that was impacted is still under going reconstructions.
By 'choppers, I was refering to helicopters. We crazy Aussies have alternate names for everything.

A couple of weeks ago, I quit drinking coffee. It had started giving me headaches... I Think because I was just drinking much too much of it.

There's a fuse inside your microwave's housing. These often blow out from old age.
Unplug the microwave.
Take the screws out of the sides and back of the metal cover.
Remove the metal cover.
You should see the glass fuse near where the power cord goes into the box. Remove this and hold it up to the light to see if the little filament inside is burned up. Replace with a fuse of the same size/type/rating.
Replace the metal cover.
Plug in the microwave.
Try it now and see how it works.
Let me know what you find!
