i interviewed at another place yesterday. a restaurant locally owned and in a Westin hotel in Avon. they offered me a job on the spot (which i asked for a few days to think over). Its a beautiful property and a beautiful restaurant. they do great food and lots of it....

my interviews went very well. the hotel position is at the Vail Cascade and it would essentially be the same position i do now (banquet Sous Chef) but at a much bigger property that does events up to 1000 people. I'm not looking for more responsibility right now, i'm looking to learn a little bit more. i will end up declining their offer even though...

eh. i'm real frustrated that they didn't call today. i'm not taking it as a sign i won't be hired, but banking on them just being busy and forgetting. i was reaaaaaaally looking forward to putting in my notice tomorrow.

short story shorter, it went great.

the executive chef i work for now even came in for dinner with his wife to personally give an endorsement for me. it was a really overwhelming gesture for him to do that for me.

i'll know on tuesday but its looking good!

well it was nice of this chef to call me. but basically he said "i saw your resume, checked your references, and figured i'd call you to tell you that i can't afford you."

its a complement at least.
lenya:
heh... sad he didn't recruit you, but he made it in a very nice way!
ladollyvita:
definitely a nice compliment! good luck with the search...my brother is in a similar situation and hes frustrated and annoyed with it.
