2004 huh?
2003 was like a colonoscopy on acid.
Let's hope this year won't turn out like a prostate exam on crack.

I am so bad. I got two christmas cards and I haven't written one in reply yet.

I got a 14 hour DVD set on the history of NYC. They're kind of slow but I find history interesting.

A couple of nights ago...

I've been lethargic in my journal updates.

I was just thinking about how the site has changed.
I am very old school by the way...

yeah whatever
Those were the pre-historic days before there were journals... can you even imagine such a thing?
There were about 20 SGs at the time. Rose, DebraJean,Jetta and LEwere among them.
The only community interaction were with the...

Okay a week has past since last entry.

Last sunday was something of a wretched hang-over kind of day. I stayed in bed and read my American Splendor compendium and felt better. Hang over days you get that kind of harsh reality check kind point of view where you negatively see everything in your life.

This last week I was sick for a few days,...

My fantasy is to move somewhere other than here. It used to be an island, like somewhere off Thailand or the Phillipines. Lately I consider a place like Portland. Not for any particular reason other than it is much colder and darker than where it is here which seems like a nice change of pace.

I'll live in a studio, or a cabin... a large...

gotta love that existential malaise, non? it'll pass, but you already know that.

i wrestled mortality/banality the other night. it was a draw, but the moment passed and it was over. it'll come again, and i'll deal with it again, and again it will pass.

perhaps it's time for you to move. portland gets the full endorsement. everyone should live there once.

is that anything like the kraft-macaroni and cheese blues?

Thanksgiving was .... ashy.

Santa Anas blew in ash from fires.
I was never clear on whether it's ash from the burnt trees or the same smoky air from three weeks ago.

I'm at a wierd place in my life where I'm strangely looking forward to when everything falls apart so I can hopefully get something halfway right when I have to start over again....

alienprincess:
actually, my french is really, really bad.
my current obsession --maybe I should say momentary obsession id figuring out how to type accents. I'm tired of all this special character crap.
I know there's a way to do this-- I saw people talking about it on various help pages before.
Cause my other options seem to be: order a brazilian keyboard in the net, or go to brazil and buy one. too bad the airfares so much. that puts us back at either learning to remap my keyboard, or buying a brazilian keyboard on the net.
yay learning, the cheap option!

I still don'tspeak japanese- I think that was the second part of your comment.....
alienprincess:
ack! double comment.
I've played with my keyboard layout with kde now, and with the exception oif the loss of the question mark and the forward slash- everything is great.
/ hey actually there's a forward slash on the number key place thing.
but now I have and all in exchange for the pesky question mark.
is this going to make me insane?(pasted)!

Hey...

I like the new SG features: biggrin
SGs get to be in the friend mix, cool!
The reciprocal friends thing seems good.
Plus new profile questions, new layout, bug fixes for my Galeon browser.

I better flip the journal page.

Last weekend I dumped out a couple of pages of what was going on... but then the submit button didn't work, and then what I wrote got lost mad

What a heavy hellish week. About a ton of various crap has fallen on my head this week...
And the fire that nearly burnt down my house is only one of them! The fact that I now know that I have a house is another, etc.
It's coming at all directions.

Well, it was about time for a climactic convergence of multiple simultaneous life changing...

Wow; leave sg for a week or so and all sorts of crazy crap happens.

I'm glad to hear that you still have a house. I don't know if I ever told you this, but I'm actually originally from Colorado; I just go to school in Indiana. So yeah, the summer before last, we went through the same thing, ever day just waiting to see where the wind would blow and if we had to evacuate. Few things make you feel so helpless.

But, you seem to be among the housed, so that's a good thing. =) Lemme know what happens to you.... last I heard, the fires were slowing down (?).

I've been meaning to update this journal entry since this morning.
You see last night I had wierd apocalyptic kind of dream. The details are already forgotten. Part of it somehow involved my brother's wife and her mother in my uncles garage. Hmm...

So I woke up from the dream and I wanted to write down the details before I forgot, but when I got...

It was a wierd night

I walked down the street only somewhat drunk

I appreciate the the character that is my town -- hippy/lowlife beach community. I moved here for the ocean, the character, and the lack of crowds and noise.

I see a fire truck, ambulance go down with sirens.
I walk by the cop cars and the cops, arms folded looking at the...

Cops are definitely assholes.... no matter what city/country you're in.

Oh, and how is it that you always seem to hit the nail on the fucking head? =) Been pondering the whole job thing, and I think I'll just not let it freak me out. Whatever happens, happens. I like you're rule of no-military, and I don't think that I could stomach that type of work, either. So aside from that, we'll see where the road takes me. wink

indeed... it really ruined my day
didnt get to do anything that i was hoping for except drink some rum
and it sounds to me like you live possibly in ob tongue
i used to live there
i dont miss it at all
hope your a little more drunk and a little less wise
being wise is overrated

10/14 == my birthday

Holy crap I'm 35 fuckin years old!!

Actually I was starting to brace for this since I was 33. "35" sounded horrible.
I was dreading it, but now it's actually pretty cool. It's a wierd kind of relief.

The hardest age for me was actually 25. That one blindsided me. I first noticed the first slightest receding of hairline. The first...
