So, for a lot of you it's Election Day. Please go out and vote. It's important. Not just for you but for the whole world. I don't like how much your government affects mine. I would like to see you pick someone who will be more beneficial for Canada.
Watching the election shit show for the last six months has raised countless questions and comparisons... Read More
i don't think they really look at it as wishing suffering upon others. i don't know what it is but they must not be looking at it the same way as we are.
I could go on about why things are so different here, what doesn't work, why it doesn't work, how we can improve it, and why every other Western nation seems to do it better, but I think you already know the answer to that. And if you don't, it's a conversation we can have another time.
Just remember that your country is made up of a mostly homogenous population smaller than California. In that respect Canada is a lot more like Europe than it is like the US, and none of you have to deal with the issues we do at the scale that we do.
But of course I agree with you, it's absolutely fucking ridiculous that it takes 22 months to elect a leader in this country. I'm glad the season finale of the Election Shit Show is over and done, and I don't look forward to the new season in two years. Let's just enjoy the hiatus while we have it.

...and according to this, Dualla is the most likely character to be the last of the Final Five. We won't have long to wait, though, one way or the other.
I started writing an entry but I hated it so I stopped. But now I'm starting over again. Not really sure it's going to go any better but I was told to write what I'm feeling. More on that later...
Election's over. Another journal, another time maybe.
Trust me, dude. Bartending/backing is a good flexible job. I wanted to be a bartender before I started dancing, and I'd still like to try it some day. Look around a bit, and see what hours you could get. I don't know what tips are like in Canada, but you should be able to make at least 100/shift easily as a bartender, 50 as a barback.
Well, I voted this morning. I kind of want to skip work tonight to watch the results come in. Although I suppose they won't be all finished by the time I get home. I can still drink and yell at the TV while Alberta goes Conservative for the billionth time.
I've already been out to vote, gone to the bank and to the library. I... Read More
yeah... the election was as always ridiculous. I ended up watching the polls come in because I went to House night...
For me, watching the polls come in without liquor is just silly. I know how it is going to end and I know it will frustrate me and I know that all the "important" things have already happened (debates, etc). I would've preferred to play warcraft and read about it this morning at my own pace.
Yeah, vote splitting is a huge issue on the Canadian left! Did you see that the Christian Heritage party got 20,000 votes? I know it's small but 20,000 people voted for those assholes? UGH
Note: I was listening to the debates on CBC Radio while delivering pizzas. I did miss a few minutes during the debate because I actually had to do some work and I missed the last 20 because I wasn't in my car.

My birthday is coming up on Friday. I'm looking forward to it. Not because it's some big event or I'm looking forward to getting older... Just because it gives me an excuse to go for all-you-can-eat sushi and play unholy amounts of Rock Band. And, on top of that, get drunk on sangria.
United States of Tara looks to be some show produced by Speilburg. It also involves Jason Rietman and Diablo Cody, who wrote the thing. It's about a mom with dissociative identity disorder, and it's supposed to be a comedy.
The teaser trailer was kind of maddening all by itself.
The Against Me! show made me feel old. But it was a good show and I had fun. After the show we went out for a friend's going away party. The bastard is moving to Nottingham for a year...
After being up until almost 6 we got up and my parents took us to the River Cafe for brunch. The food was pretty good but... Read More
'Tis a start, my friend, and that's the most important thing.
...I can't believe that another NHL season is almost upon us. I don't know about you, but I'm approaching it with a sense of dread. It's going to be ugly for me, haha.
How are the Oilers so far this season?
