Am I totally fucking lame because "Lost in the Supermarket" is one of my favorite Clash songs?

Still sick. Don't know why. Went to the doctor today. He didn't know either. Said it's probably a stomach virus. Great. Thanks doc. This is why I don't go to the doctor. They either tell me shit I already know or tell me nothing at all. *sigh*

I've...

I'm sick. I have no idea why. Feels kind of like food poisoning but I don't know if it is or not. It's freezing cold outside. My girlfriend has gone back to Calgary again. Today is pretty much crap.

I had a good weekend. The Oilers won the game I went to in a shootout. My brother and I yelled. A lot. My choir concert...

So I've officially filled every evening from tomorrow until December 3rd. Yikes.

hearse_83 sent me a message today saying his friend desperately needed a light tech for her play which opens on Friday. So now I'm doing that.

Here's what things look like...

Nov. 21: Choir rehearsal and karaoke
Nov. 22: Tech for the play
Nov. 23: Play opens
Nov. 24: Oilers vs. Blackhawks baby!...

This buzz doesn't keep us from missing her

Another week. Work is still going well. With the exception of two incredibly annoying co-workers I'm enjoying it quite a bit. People seem to think I'm doing a good job. Old ladies say nice things to me when I bring them their groceries. I like driving around the city all day.

Jody was up visiting again. I...

The new job is going well. It's a bit more relaxed. Every time I walk from the back to put out stock I walk through the bakery. I don't think the smell of fresh baked goods will ever get old. Tomorrow I start going out for deliveries. Or at least, I'm supposed to. I spent part of today changing a spare tire on the van...

Okay. So I quit my job today. I have another one starting Monday. I am the king of short term employment apparently. I'm going to be working as a receiver for Sunterra. Yes, it's pretty close to the same work I was just doing but the loads are much smaller and I'm not going to wind up a useless cripple by 25.

I'm also...

I commend you, FP; not too many people would even try to write a novel in a month. I'd be quite interested to read whatever you come up with, and it certainly couldn't be any worse than some of the stuff I've done. wink

I haven't been to an NHL game in about three or four years, and it doesn't seem likely that I'll be going to one any time soon. Unless I plan on giving up one of my kidneys, that is.

Good luck with the new job!

...and yes, Jody is hot. And a lot of other good things. I really want to hang out with you two in the not too distant future.

Called in sick to work. Which was kind of a lie. I'm covering up a wrenched knee and sore back. This job is going to kill me. Literally. I don't think it's safe for me to be doing it. So now I need to find something else fast. *sigh*

Going to be playing a lot of Guitar Hero III in the next little while. I'm...

Don't fucking spam me.

I started a new job on Friday. I'm a delivery driver for a liquor store. I drive a truck full of booze from store to store dropping things off. It's pretty boring but it'll do for now I guess.

There's really nothing else new going on. Looking forward to having my evenings and weekends back.

I've just downloaded The War and...

Okay. I'm replacing that entry because I really do have a good one now.

My brother stopped by this afternoon to drop off presents from my parents! Hooray! My folks went on a well deserved vacation to Italy in September (an early celebration for their 25th wedding anniversary)* and they brought me stuff. I got a bottle of wine, a block of real Parmesan cheese...

Nazi rape huh? God people disgust me...

On to more pleasant things...

I made a tasty stuffed pork tenderloin for supper the other day. Jody suggested I take pictures and tell you all about it but sadly none of them turned out. The pork, however, did. It was stuffed with yellow peppers, onion and some wonderful goat cheese that Jody brought me from Kelowna. *drool*...

They've got other things at the library you can read, too! I strongly suggest Villa Incognito by Tom Robbins : )

And good luck with the job hunting, I'm in a very similar boat. WIthout a pay stub or a bill in my name, I can't even get a library card because I can't prove I live here now...

I'm just reposting this comment I made where I feel it needs to be said.

Here's my $.02:

What we are offended by basically boils down to our own personal beliefs and experiences. I wholly empathize w/anyone who is offended by the set because of their own experiences w/rape, and have every right to voice your opinion as such. However, how do you feel about sets such as Al - Habit, Manko - Passion Play, and Mia - Crucify? I'm not religious in any sense, so I have no personal stake in this, but while this set offends you and others who have been affected directly or indirectly by rape, what would you say to those that feel the aforementioned sets are nothing more than blatant sacriliege and making a mockery of their belief in "God" or "Jesus" via religious iconography, in the name of "art?" Would you say the same thing that supporters of Nana's set are saying to those against it?

Searching for the tag "controversial" yielded over 30 sets total. Will we know why people thought any of those sets were controversial enough to tag them as such? Probably not. As much as we can have an understanding to others and the things they've experienced in their own lives, everyone has their own opinion of what is "controversial" to the point that arguing over it, while sometimes necessary and good for opening dialogue, will often get us nowhere, as it will usually boil down to pointing fingers @each other saying "How can you support that?" Whether it's sets, books, movies, music, or politics, that's what happens more often than not. I've spent enough time browsing the CE boards (Bitch_PhD's stories especially) to see it for myself. That's why I usually stay out of it, unless it's a topic of discussion I feel strongly enough to comment about.

Like I said, I have no opinion one way or the other about the set itself. But I thought I'd just share my thoughts over the situation as a whole.
