If you've never seen "Alternative 3", I just found it on YouTube. It's one of those gorgeous pieces of fiction whose fictionality does almost nothing to reduce how unsettling it is.

The entire program in four parts:

Oh, I'd hoped that'd happen soon. I want to favorite your whole set.
np33di:
how strange the fiction! but good! smile

Have you really liked Finnegan's Wake? I have read only small parts and it's quite difficult. Even my english teacher at the university had some difficulties in reading it. I think it's a mixture between English Language and Gaelic Language and, for that reason, it's quite challenging to read. But I am certain: no one would ever translate that book! smile

You are a brave girl and your set is fantastic!!

I would be lying if I said I haven't harbored similar worries about Against Me! so it's good to hear they're still going strong. At the same time, though, I couldn't help but think while reading your entry, "Shit, was 2002 five years ago?" Five years seems so long but 2002 seems like it wasn't long ago at all. Either way, I'm bummed I'm missing their Chicago show (With Cursive and Mastadon no less!), but I hope they're performance is awesome nonetheless.

I think as explaining integration and differentiation goes... I like to say that calculus is you hit a baseball so it goes and breaks a window, you can use calculus to describe what happens. You can say, if you talk about how fast it's going, and how that's the rate of change of its position, and such the derivative. You can talk about how if you know how fast the ball is going and how hard it was hit (gloss over angle) that you can determine where it was hit, and so integrating the speed can give you the position. I think you'd have to dress it up a bit depending on your audience, though.

I know a bit about insomnia, obviously. Up writing a long comment to a post already ancient in the blogosphere (ick, buzzwordish) of a girl I don't even know. The strangest thing about reading people's blogs is get this sense of knowing someone I've never met. Anyway, it may be about time to stop traversing backwards into this girl's (your? I have no idea who is reading these comments, probably no one, less likely still the author of the original post) timeline and engage a blackout.

Have you seen the "FLUX door stop"?

I just noticed this remark, and I have to reply, because I've been going through this crazy Zeppelin 3 revival myself. Especially Tangerine, Out on the Tiles, Celebration Song and Gallows Pole. You know what makes it the perfect album? You know how they put at least one long, slow, rather bombastic blues song on all of their early albums? Well on Zep 3, even that song, "Since I've Been Loving You" is totally incredible.

Gorgeous photo set, by the way.

People make this mistake, you see. We think that there is a finite quantity of love we have to give, and by pouring it into someone or something, we reduce the amount we have available for other applications.

But it doesn't work that way.

Love reproduces out of love, and the more love you give, the more you have to give.

I think sometimes that the replication of love, or consciousness or anything can be subject to the same flaws, errors of transcription of the replication of our bodies. I worry that if my love or consciousness or faith is not pure.

why am I compulsively commenting on this blog?
