no, i agree, the wharf is totally touristy and tacky, and definately wouldn't recommend it as a "great hang out" for people!
wasn't that big on the mission. spent a fair bit of time on Valencia St, but that was about it. We had breakfast at Hollys restaurant Boogaloos a few times on 22nd and Valencia, and obviosuly went to Zeitgiest a lot.
Holly took us out in the Tenderloin more, which was awesome - theres three bars really close to each other just up from Geary that we kinda rotated. Hemlock, Edinboro Castle and Whiskey Thieves.
Managed to catch up Vortext yesterday in the end. everyone really came through for us again, which was ace, cos the gig was a shambles. our drummer didn't turn up, so we had to hastily re-arrange the line up of the band!!! ARGH!
