With all due respect to Waylon & Willie, my heroes have always been physicists. I guess it's probably because they are trying to better understand the way things are...aren't afraid to challenge past beliefs, attack things with logic. Galileo, Newton, Einstein, Hawking...what is it like, realizing you are touching the fabric of existence?

my goodness, the Del's Lemonade is a little slice of bliss. the most perfect frozen item ever created. more so than ben & jerry's vanilla bean ice cream, even. if you ever get out to my good ol' home state, make sure it's in the summer, and MAKE SURE you find a Del's!

these are my orders.

That's my sister and I standing in front the school that we went to in 1971-72, Wilbur Avenue Elementary in Tarzana.

What is the significance? Well, none, really, except that we both went there at the same time as Susan Olsen...that's right, CINDY from THE BRADY BUNCH. We didn't know her cause she was several years ahead of us, but we saw her all the...

Well, we saw Dr. Demento last January at his alma mater, Reed College in Portland; he goes back there every few years to do music and video presentations of some of his wackiest stuff. He signed one his LPs for me. I babbled something about his shows getting me through adolescence back in the 70's. He's a really sweet guy. Completely demented, of course.

I met the cigarette smoking man from the X-Files. He laughed at a joke I made.

So, my mom doesn't like that my waist is 21" instead of 28".

I have to put the Man with Two Brains picture up for the remainder of the weekend...I just love it too much.

I am really exhausted. Well, yeah, it IS 3:15 in the morning, but I didn't get any good sleep last night. Kept waking up.

But today was great! Kitty Kat who makes my heart go pitter-pat stopped by my house briefly to check...

Sometimes I really hate coming home and doing nothing...sometimes I really like it. Like tonight biggrin

So, I try never to go out with women that I work with. I've done it a few times in the past, and each time was an unmitigated disaster. But, hell, it's almost inevitable sometimes, right?

Well, I'm doing my damnedest to avoid it right now. But what the hell...

I feel a lot better than I did when I wrote my last journal. Got that damn proposal written and slammed on the desk 10 minutes before the deadline. Finally, I can relax. Sort of.

Sorry for the boring journal entry, but I've been staring at a fucking computer screen all day. My rods & cones are begging for relief.

Listening to:

Dr. Feelgood -...

Ha!! I can beat you at boring journal entries any day of the week, my friend... smile

Doesn't that suck about those "bowling for dummies" places?? Our neighborhood alley isn't like that, thank god, but it seems they all now have electronic scoring. You don't have to lift a finger or try to remember how to score a spare or a strike (how many frames after, um, I mean, errr...). I dunno - I kinda miss the old way.

Yeah, James Spader - when did he grow up and become a leading man? I'll never think of him the same way again after "Crash", I'll tell you that right now........
eeek

Now, am I way off the mark here, or are you really a doctor? I kind of get that impression. I did medical transcription for 16 years; 10 years family practice and 6 years anatomic pathology. Interesting work, to say the least.

Redd Foxx makes me laugh, and I need laughs right now.

I'm at work. On Sunday night. Typing a goddamn grant proposal. But it's got to be done by tomorrow.

The atmosphere at my job is poison. It's a non-profit and we're really feeling the squeeze of the shitty economy. Lotsa tension. It's really affecting me emotionally. Right now I'm on 30mg of prozac, and...

WITHIN 30 MINUTES, my mind was completely blown TWICE tonight, both having to do with cars.

On the way home from work, I saw a vintage Mercedes. But it wasn't like any vintage Mercedes I've ever seen. It had those ENORMOUS monster truck wheels underneath it. Seriously, this thing was at least 4-5 feet of the ground. It was one of the most twisted, fantastic,...

I'm completely worn out. My work is killing me. I can't seem to do anything right. My boss is always on my ass. It really, really sucks.

So tonight, I am not a Midnight Mover. The Doctor must rest.

But in celebration of the return of Isobel from her wanderings, here is a previously unseen, special collector's edition image from the IsoButt gallery.
