I feel your pain, my friend. The apartment search is driving me insane, and if we end up staying here, my rent goes up $100.

I found a grey hair the other day. Two, actually.

First person to use the word "distinguished" will be shitting teeth tomorrow.

Haven't heard from the guitar shop yet, though it's been two weeks. I'm taking that to mean they're taking their time to give it extra lovin' care.

I need frames for my WWII propaganda posters, and then I need to acquire some Siv...

You looked pretty--I mean HOT--in your secret society t-shirt yesterday--I mean--did I say SECRET society? Just t-shirt! It's just a t-shirt!

And *ahem* about your comment in Siv's journal....I'm ON to you, buddy.
kestrel:
I hope you appreciate the person no longer on my list because of you.

You're right. That was a dull journal entry, poem and all.

Today I met a "Buddhist Nun". I didn't think there was such a thing. Maybe something gets lost in the translation. Or not--she spoke with an accent that was worn pretty thin and hard to place, though I want to guess it was Australian.

Come to think of it, she reminded me of Olivia...

Thanks matey.

Yesterday was really hard. Today was easier. My eyes wouldn't focus in the morning for some damn reason. Got a lot out of my system yesterday, mainly in sexy sexy snot form. I'll probably be fine until she starts packing, methinks.

I used to have a running list of "reasons guitars are better than girls". Top reasons included that a guitar doesn't get mad if you play another guitar, you can easily have as many guitars as you want, and you don't get in any trouble if your best friend walks in on you and his guitar.

Etc.

How do you write a letter asking for someone to consider publishing your work in their humble little literary journal when what you really want to say is, "I know you're not going to read this, and I think that stinks, and no, I haven't taken any creative writing classes, so no, there's no B-list author you can put into your debt by publishing me--and...

You could praise the work of some other authors they've published, so that they know you have good taste (read: appreciate THEIR taste) and are familiar with their journal. Kissing ass and knowing your enemy can sometimes work miracles.

I have a feeling that an attempt to accomplish something these days, no matter how major or minor, will always require a certain amount of apathy.

I say submit it in a formal voice. I also wish you luck! Getting something published one day has been a tiny personal dream of mine. smile

Dogslife,
I am sorry if I offended you in my SG:NHS post when inquiring as to what one does with a Literature degree. My intention was not to offend; I was not being antagonistic. In fact, I am genuinely curious as to what people are doing with their literature degrees, as I posess (myself) a BA in French Literature from a well-respected Liberal Arts College in Ohio (read: Kenyon College).

I am sorry if my meaning in my post was unclear. I am sorry if I offended you.

I work in Radio. I am: a talking head; a web content provider; an advertising copywriter; the FCC Administrator. I was wondering what my options were, if I decided to leave the broadcasting business, with my degree in French Literature.

Again, I am sorry. Please accept.
Love,
Undone

I voted.

I dropped my electric guitar off at the repair shop (which I've been meaning to do for a year).

I got my tattoo touched up (which apparently involves totally doing it over again).

Before the night is through I'll have a cover letter and several poems ready to submit to a literary magazine of my random drunken choosing.

I am efficiency incarnate.

How...

Maybe I'm not going to dance all Dance Hall every day, but I sure could do it a bit more Dance Hall than I've been doing it lately, and it wouldn't kill me to do it more frequently either.
