Man, that's a rough one. The Bro Code is very clear in that you don't date a friend's ex. Too weird. Too much history. And really bad if it's a recent breakup.

If he's just a guy you see down at the bar, or he's just in the same crowd (2 or 3 tiers removed in your close friends circle), then date her. You don't owe him anything.

But if you see yourself being bros years down the line, you might want to keep it friend-level with the girl until you REALLY know you dig her or he gets used to the idea of the two of you together.

I was stuck right in the middle of one of these. It got really ugly, and the guy's in question are no longer friends.

that probably didn't do a bit of good...but I tried.
