Ok, so it's the weekend. I have a ton of things I'd be better off dealing with but I shall probably play SOCOM2 and swear a lot.

One good thing from yesterday, apart from reading Saya's journal, is that I know the designs I want for my forearm pieces. Well, almost/pretty much.

Thanks for the welcome.

...er.... "blimey" and "yoiks".... is there a British Colloquial To Canadian Slang dictionary in existence somewhere? Us colonials aren't up to speed with these sorts of things. In fact, last time I checked, we were still hunting beavers to keep up with your supply and demand of fashionably English top hats. wink

What part of the UK are you in?

You certainly meet some alternate views on the Boards and in the Groups. Quite what they alternate with is the big question.

I think that you Brits can understand sarcasm and irony a lot better than us stupid yanks.

It's just a particular variety of black tea that the British seem to appreciate, and I appreciate quite a lot as well. It's nothing too special. You can get it in the grocery store.
venice:
Haha, it's okay. Heck, it's probably called something different over there anyway. I think it's the same tea that I found under my bed all the places I stayed when I was there, so it's probably the same thing you drink. I was stupid, and didn't look at your location before I replied to that. I drink it with milk and sugar, yes, and it's the only tea I drink with anything in it, because it's supposed to be that way, and I usually just poor hot water over a tea bag, but sometimes I am out and about and they only have it loose leaf. So either way, really.

I can't say I find Jap films a let down, I love the way they invade your comfort zone but its getting incresingly difficult to find anything that genuinely scares me anymore.... so if you have any
reccomendations.

I liked Audition, the slow pace was necessary to make the ending so taught, but agreed its not your typical Mike fare.

Have you seen ATale of Two Sisters? a really visually beautiful film & more intelligent than most.

good luck with the job hunt, its so easy to put things off...especially with this site whatever
djinn:
Yup, that would definately freak me out. lol

Tale of Two Sisters is Korean, that & Phone are the only Korean films ive seen. Phone is pretty bad frown

More freaking delays. mad

Plane from Toronto delayed due to dickhead passengers who hadn't a clue. Missed my connection in Amsterdam, caught the next flight out and got held up before landing at Heathrow and then got held up for fudging ages because another plane was using the stand designated to my flight.

....but I'm home now, have had a cup of tea and have opened...

Wise words, spoken innocuously enough. Some INCREDIBLY tetchy people on here. So much for the rad alternatives. I personally object to the over-use of eye-liner and the staring-over-the-shoulder pose. But My Good Lady Wife has suggested I try rouge and possibly a cute little upward pout instead.
zombieelvis:
Bitch!

My god I love you.

Delayed again but this time I got an upgrade on the next train, much to the disgust of the lady at the ticket counter. I guess I don't have the look of a first class passenger.

Only for the first time has "The Passenger" entered my head.

.....I am the passenger and I ride and I ride.....

Well it's all but over, except tonight and...

in regards to your board topic about the quality of the sets (i wasn't in the mood to get my ass kicked in that board so i'm posting here)- i agree with you. as an artist/designer/photographer/creative type, i constantly strive to put my best foot forward always- which means presenting clean, professional work, always. the amateurish sets bug me. i guess, as everyone was saying, that it's a taste thing. to each his(her) own, i suppose.

I fucking love Iggy Pop biggrin I'm sure you'll meet an SG one day.

Back on the rails again today (or should that be off the rails? - no!) All I have to do is make my connection for Toronto at Montreal to get me in Sunday then catch my flight on Monday. An hour or so's difference between trains so not a lot of room for delays. It shall be interesting.

Well it will be for me, I...

Out and about in snow strewn Halifax today and I have to say that of all the places I've been so far in Canada it's the one I'd most want to stay in. Of course I've only been here one night and part of a day so it's charm may wear off but I really like all the clapboard houses. Lots of character amongst the...

Do you hate me forever for chaning my pic?

Just got into Halifax after a 4 and a half hour delay, including a 3 hour+ bus ride. Everything looks closed and may well be closed tomorrow due to a snow storm due.

....and what is it with Canadians not walking up or down escalators? I know escalators move but in London we have a convention. If you want to stand then you do so on the right hand side so that those who wish to walk can do so on the left. People here, more than anywhere else I've been (noticed) will stand all the way till the escalator almost throws them off.

Please explain.
