For my vocal duties on our latest noise rock album, I read passages from the Christian Science bible thing in a Captain Beefheart fashion. The only thing on my mind the whole time was GIMME THAT OLD TIME RELIGION. My cohorts are transferring it from MiniDisk over to CD. I'll get you a copy. Only one guy in the group knows how to do anything. What I lack in talent I make up for in energy. Cheech might get a a chuckle or two.

"Adventure" is pretty much what I'd been lead to expect-- the songs are good, but the procuction is much too glossy. The drums are mixed way down low and recorded so that they sound like a cross between a drum machine and a kid's toy. The vocals are mixed too high. The guitars are overall ok, but too orderly and restrained. But if you can look past the overproduction, yeah the songs are there.

I liked the fuckin' U-Boats. But they need to be modernized to meet my drinking and Grand Theft Auto Vice City habits. They can leave the guns in the tourettes, too. I imagine I would like to mimick what I see in video games after about 28-33 Amstel Lights.

Plus we'll need the soundtrack from Scarface. It just makes sense.

The only problem with this whole scenario is that I don't want amphetamines or Lou Reed playing with my testicles when he's bored. Other than that it all sounds pretty groovy.

I think what really gets to me about this that of all the bands in the world you would expect to hear things like this about, Phish is probably the least likely, you know? I mean, I've never heard any right wing christian nuts or PC types talk about how Phish was destroying the morals of the nation's youth or something. People just like to hear good reputations get spoiled, I guess...
