So I had this dream, and it feels like it is going to go on for maybe the rest of my life, but at the same time, it seems all too short.

In it, I was visited by a trio of spiders. The largest one was almost as large as I am, perfectly sized and shaped, beautiful and delicate -- a beige-olive tone with colorful...

hall. how was your weekend? i'm going out for a driving lesson with my mom soon, i want my damn licence as fast as possible. otherwise havent done much exept being out alot, the weather has been great but not today, cloudy and grey. it's a lazy sunday anyway, time to go and get ready to go out. puss!

I would love to move to S.F. and even have a green card to do so. I would have to live in a used tea bag and eat lobster claws thrown out by wealthy suburbanites such is the cost of pretty much anything in the Bay Area. The lobster thing might be OK but used tea bags are hard to come by over there and they leak.

I know you were looking forward to this weekend. Hope it's going well. Any hints as to what's going on?

Here's another little practice thing I did. Just fucking around on the decks, and as I tend to do, trying to fit square pegs into round holes. Sorry about the low volume, I am more or less ignorant about sound recording, and apparently am the worst sound engineer in my neighborhood.

i've got a problem with dichotomies--a bit of a difficulty understanding grey areas. sometimes helpful--i'm really good at structuring things, but sometimes a hinderance.

i like to blend my experience and literary endeavours. just trying to make my experience meaningful to someone else i guess.

the link in your journal never loads on my computer... frown

yeah. there's a bunch of my stuff on that site. it's usually a pretty good read/visit over there.

the interesting thing about your statement is that having been hit proper -- many times in sparring situations and once by a car -- is that there is a similarity, but whenever i've been smitten i get a sort of sick feeling inside that i never get when having been smote. still, i have to agree.
marieceleste:
Are you smitten? One part of me is a little jealous, being smitten is such a pleasant state. But another part of me is no longer jealous, I'm practising being smitten with myself lately, and it's working quite well. wink

Yeah, I'm definitely of the mind that I can achieve any state of consciousness I want without the aid of mushrooms, acid, MDMA, etc. I just haven't made the step from believing that to actually doing it.. yet.

man, i'll forget about that girl for days on end and then suddenly i'll just suddenly see her face(read: eyes) in my head. which qualifies me as either hopelessly romantic or a total pyschopath.

a bit of both, perhaps?

suicidedoggie:
The trick is simulataneously twofold. Human beings only notice things when movement is involved and the way they keep noticing things, even and especially the apparently static things, is both by keeping their eyes constantly on the move (thousands of micro movements a minute) and by the external things moving around (which some of them don't, of course, which can sometimes be a problem for fighter pilots, street cleaners and zoo keepers). SO, to be utterly invisible you have to move around at exactly the same time and in the same direction as every micro-movement of the Other's eyes AND remain perfectly still. Or I suppose the easy way is to step into a different quantum state for a while but I don't know much about that to be honest.
sophie:
i can tell you that the mothership woke me up this morning with the urgent message that you were right there on the other side of my dreams.

but when i tried to get you, something screwy happened in the transmission. grrrr.

hey, when you say you have a worthless inside trapping range, is that a kind of way of saying that you have short arms?

oh fuck. i just realized that i missed my opportunity to ask them for a new pair of glitter platform boots. arrrrgh. i hope they contact me again soon.

There is this guy named Chogyam Trungpa who wrote a pretty fantastic book that I had the pleasure of reading before that other guy's baby mama took it in the breakup.

In that book he talks about this concept of basic human goodness. The way I've parsed it out is that basic human goodness involves those things that are just universally and intrinsically good to...

Love ragga. But used to hate it.

I was born in Japan, but grew up near Fresno in a fiercely religious town called Kingsburg (which, surprisingly enough, Sophie knows well). I uprooted myself from my conservative home and moved to San Diego for college where I was introduced to reggae by the hordes and hordes of hippies that inhabit the city. Honestly, I hated the stinky bastards, the patchouli, and that damn reggae music.

Then a curious thing happened.

Seven years later I moved to San Francisco where I endured the Worst Year of My Life. I was lonely and generally unhappy and miserable with myself. And lonely. And generally unhappy and miserable with myself. It was during this period that I found myself first missing, and then comforted by, the sweet and tender sounds of raggae music. It reminded me of the home I'd left behind with all the stinky hippies I had, by then, come to love. I found great joy in the melodies of Saint Marley and the almighty Jah.

So, that's a long answer to a short question but I love raggae. A new mix would be rad!
