I love your new profile pic, btw...

I very much like. I've always been a fan of Celtic music, and they put an interesting edge on it. Apparantly their later music is slightly different than Swagger, but what I heard on Swagger, I liked. I would liken them to Gaelic Storm, but that' doesn't quiet measure up ... not sure why.

I think my favorite was Salty Dog ... although I really liked The Worst Day Since Yesterday ... but that might have beenn dark humor reflecting on my mood. biggrin

I lied
I stole in the name of fear
But I won't be silent here

I don't want somewhere to run to
I don't want somebody I can shake
Lord I want my dignity again
Before I walk on fire
You gotta look me in the face

I won't flinch
And I won't turn away

I'm sorry
I'm sorry for being scared
But I won't...

She's an extraordinary girl
In an ordinary world
And she can't seem to get away
He lacks the courage in his mind
like a child left behind
like a pet left in the rain
she's all alone again
wiping the tears from her eyes
some days he feels like dying
she gets so sick of crying
she sees the mirror of herself
An image she...

I'm inclined to go with the Katydid. I think they're pretty cool wink

I'm also inclined to say not to worry about the person you fear you may become. Concentrate instead on the person you want to become. Personality is not genetic, if you worry about your father's influence on you, you'll see it in everything you do - because you're looking for it.

You're too good a person to worrying about what ifs, just do your thing in your own way. You seem to have a good set of morals, let your concience guide you.

I believe in you. blush

There's really no need to thank me. It's the least I can do.

i like to read. i like to read stuff that, all at once, makes my heart soar and my soul sob.

the sun is shining today and i have a lake in my backyard. my birdfeeders need filling and my flower beds need mulching.

my dog jumped through my bedroom window over the weekend and i need to fix the screen.

I have been a avid reader the last year. One of my favorites was "The Time Travelers Wife" it is a love story, a little fiction and a little science and a damn good read.

then there is one of my all time fav's "Watership Down" blush

maybe you can enjoy one of those.
grizz3rd:
I like to read as well. I am reading The Confederacy of Dunces right now it is a little different but a good book none the less. I also like reading your journal entries you have a wonderful way with words I think you could wright a novel no problem.

Have a happy hump day sorry to hear about your finger

There is a lot of sadness in my house. The residue left behind as the hurt and anger begin to melt away. Since the drama has died down we are able to have rational, although emotionally charged, tear-inducing conversations. You know the conversations that leave you emotionally spent. Where you each find the courage to say what needs to be said no matter the consequences...

Yea, even without work I've been keeping rather busy. I've been spending a bunch of time with this girl I met plus taking care of all those things that have accumulated up that need to be done.

I've always got time for you though! kiss
speedphreak:
Friday night I crashed your party
Saturday I said Im sorry
Sunday came and trashed me out again
I was only having fun
Wasnt hurting anyone
And we all enjoyed the weekend for a change

Ive been stranded in the combat zone
I walked through bedford stuy alone
Even rode my motorcycle in the rain
And you told me not to drive
But I made it home alive
So you said that only proves that Im insane

You may be right
I may be crazy
But it just may be a lunatic youre looking for
Turn out the light
Dont try to save me
You may be wrong for all I know
But you may be right

Remember how I found you there
Alone in your electric chair
I told you dirty jokes until you smiled
You were lonely for a man
I said take me as I am
cause you might enjoy some madness for awhile

Now think of all the years you tried to
Find someone to satisfy you
I might be as crazy as you say
If Im crazy then its true
That its all because of you
And you wouldnt want me any other way

You may be right
I may be crazy
But it just may be a lunatic youre looking for
Its too late to fight
Its too late to change me
You may be wrong for all I know
But you may be right

You may be right
I may be crazy
But it just may be a lunatic youre looking for
Turn out the light
Dont try to save me
You may be wrong for all I know
But you may be right
You may be wrong but you may be right
You may be wrong but you may be right

I hate that anyone has to go through any sort of similiar situation. It's never easy at first ... hell, bloody difficult doesn't really describe it either. I wish you the best of luck. Just keep a good heart and things will work out as they should, and they will be for the best.

Well, you're a good person, and deserve no less. I'm not sure how good I've been, but I'm glad if I was. biggrin

Typically on weekends, usually Saturday morning, I make pancakes and bacon. And everyweek the pancakes are a different color. This morning, I decided to try something different, I squeezed the juice of a blood orange into the pancake batter. I used two oranges and put some pulp in there too, gave the pancakes a nice little pinky tint. Somehow, in all this creativeness, I must...

Inspiration for expression can come from the strangest places and in the strangest forms. My triggers are certain people, music and also keeping busy. If I get lazy, my mind and pen get lazy as well. I have all my triggers working for me right now. So as I keep myself busy this morning, my iPod on random overwhelming me by different emotions as each...

I hate that. When Muffin knows (or just thinks) he's done something bad and starts crying because he thinks I'm going to lose my cool. Terhu has picked that up a little, too. I've been through some bad times and they've suffered because of it. Then again, Muffin has learned to do bad things to get my attention. I've been a horrible parent at times.

I once considered myself a pretty good writer. Lately, Ive been periodically going back and reading some of my past journal entries and its as if I am reading the words of someone else. Typically, when my life is plagued with upheaval and pain, writing is my escape to get through it. Words create my path into the future and hopefully clarity. However, the past...

"here" being Arkansas or "here" being this reality?

Yanno, never mind cause that doesn't matter. My philosophy has quickly evolved into "respect others, but have fun, be a kid" ... most "grown ups" i know have forgotten how to have fun. Go to the top of that grassy hill and roll down it. Run along the beach casting care to the wind. We can't run from reality, but we can certainly take a break from it. I don't mean we should all become irresponsible baffoons, but you just need to remember it's okay to play. Try to enjoy yourself in whatever it is you are doing RIGHT NOW ... make a game out of it possible. What you are doing may suck, but make it ias enjoyable as possible until you find that grassy hill, then take a break and blow off steam.

As far as your place in all this? Try not to worry about it too much. Still look for it (because it is there, but you may find it's not just one place). Don't lose yourself trying to find it ... be a kid, explore, and before you know it, there you are. wink

Of course, that's just my thoughts. It seems to work for me, but I'm relatively new at it. I'd love to hear a second opinioin (from anyone reading this comment even). biggrin

I think tomorrow I'm gonna start a nerf war in the house (in chicago today).

Mind you I don't think you COULD be one of those old ladies you mentioned (age doesn't matter ... they're OLD wink ) ... it's hard going against the flow of things. Particularly in AR... but I know you can do it. Just based of what I've read in your journal and your comments. wink

One of the things I miss in being in a bottom floor apartment is being able to open the windows and let the fresh air in. It's an old building and I'm afraid if I open them, I'll never get them closed. I'm glad you got some sunshine today, things always seem better in the light of the sun. kiss

Grizz3rd provided me with a link to a quote website (thank you Grizz) and when I got to the site the first quote I read was this:

"A woman is like your shadow - follow her, she flies; fly from her, she follows"

wow...nothing like getting a really good smack in the face from reality. at least i have a topic to discuss in therapy...

Crack that whip
Give the past the slip
Step on a crack
Break your mommas back
When a problem comes along
You must whip it
Before the cream sits out too long
You must whip it
When somethings going wrong
You must whip it

Now whip it
Into shape
Shape it up
Get straight
Go forward
Move ahead
Try to detect it
Its not too late
To whip it
Whip it good

When a good time turns around
You must whip it
You will never live it down
Unless you whip it
No one gets away
Until they whip it

I say whip it
Whip it good
I say whip it
Whip it good

Hey wink
It's alays a complete pisser when life throws things at you to knock you off track. I hate the fact that when ~I think I'm dealing with something, then WHAM! something else comes up, bites you on the arse and runs away with you. So just keep on chipping away at what's directly in front of you.

On my travels again, in the nasty borough of Newhaven again, just outside Brighton. One good thing about it though, I've just gone and had myself a new tattoo (I know it's bad, especially when I haven't got my other one finished) If I can take a picture of it, I'll post it, so keep your eyes peeled.

Good going on the lilac, when I was a kid, I had a huge honeysuckle bush outside my window. That smell always takes me back to being a child in a small village. If I were ever to have kids, I'd sure as hell want them to grow up in an environment like I had (Without the warring parents though wink)

Hope therapy goes well, and that all is as it should be.

kiss

Today I am on a quest for lilacs. When I was a young girl, kingergarten age, we lived in a house in the 'burbs of Chicago and outside my bedroom window were three enormous lilac bushes. These are my memories, so, for all I know, the bushes were 3 feet tall, but as I remember them, they were as tall as the house and I...

One that reblooms??? If you find it let me know.

The woman who lived here before me planted a little one. It's only about three feet high...light lilac flowers...small leaves...and OMG the smell. I'm not sure what its called but I think I've seen it an catalog and it might be called Little Kim.

I'm a total plant "geek" too, so don't worry.

Poor Iceberg might just really be in trouble now.. wink
