Fare the well, Ms. Etta. Your soul an talent were a beautiful gift for the rest of us.
Be well in a place with no more pain and sorrow.

BudoViking, thank you for the lovely comment you wrote to me back in november, when I wrote my latest blog and expressed concern about SG and how insipid it is becoming. Sorry for replying with so much delay but as you may have guessed I haven't been active on the site since then. I agree with you on how the business aspect has overtaken the independent, alternative one. To me SG has indeed become a victim of its success, but more sadly also the enemy it used to fight. It is true that the comunity here is fantastic though, that's probably the reason why I won't leave. This and the fact that I'm not the kind of girl who gives up.

Even if you aren't a raving lunatic soccer fan like me, you will hopefully appreciate this from American goalkeeper Tim Howard playing today for Everton in the English Premier League-ARRR!!!ARRR!!!

Strange yuletide. With the nest now empty and one of the progeny not finding his way home it was a new feeling. The passage of time seems to be stealing the warmth and cheer and ability to gather the clan together. Guess I'll have to look forward to a blessing of grand kids to perhaps one day reverse that. ARRR!!!

Merry tidings and blessings to you...

The older I get, the more the holidays seem a bit of a letdown...or something I'd just prefer to avoid entirely. Unrealistic expectations, I suppose. (How things really are between myself and my family, versus how I wish things to be.)

Anyway. smile

May the coming year be one of love, contentment, and growth for you, dear BV!

Prost!!!!

Just got this! Happy big sky fireball return! You in town, then?

Glad you had an excellent birthday celebration. Sounds like the universe has been throwing some nice little gifties your way. smile

Re. your boy possibly ending up in Oregon: Well, there are certainly lots of trees out here (despite the best efforts of Weyerhaeuser and the U.S. Forest Service). And we can always use more caring, tree-savvy folk.

Be well, dear fellow!

I dig this song anyway and Jessie J just might be my current crush, but on this acoustic version, she really lets her soul out.

~ Hey there BV. I saw this shocking sight at a gas station as I drove past, and then spun around in a screech of tires and brakes to return and get this photo! How could I not!!!
~ Enjoy!

PS - I'll be in DC a couple of times in Oct, I'll be in touch, maybe we can share a beer this year...!

That is pretty sweet! Don't know if you've seen the news, it looks like Saab is about to bite the bullet permanently and go off to the great junkyard in the sky unless an appeals court in Sweden overturns the lower court decision not to grant an extension on bankruptcy. Crying shame.

Let me know when you will be in town. I'm down in Atlanta the first week of Oct and then out in San Francisco over Halloween. But in between I should be around.ARRR!!!ARRR!!!

And that, my friend, is why I rarely allow myself to become emotionally invested in any sporting events or teams. Can't take the heartbreak. smile

That gumbo looks heavenly. A nice way to drown one's sorrows.
