The same thing goes on with me, and the combination of certain aspects I get from both of them isn't just tiresome. It gets me into some real shit sometimes. REAL shit. I like it, though. Also, get an egg carton, and put your avocados in them pointy side down. I don't know if it actually works. But I like to think it makes them ripen a little faster. Your friends will think you're an avocado genius when they see it. You just have to play it up. "Yeah. I always do that. It works. You didn't know?"

Yeah, once you have kids of your own, you do start to see a lot of your parents come out. It's almost a stock thing with people to say "I never thought I'd ever say that. I sounded just like my parents."
It'll get really scary when you hit 40 or 50. Then it will really freak you out.
The thing about parents is that they are not perfect, and it takes some time and distance to learn to appreciate them. It also takes time to become really grounded in yourself and figure out the real you (which changes over time, too). There are just some things in life only time can show us.
I think you'll be fine. Just the fact that you are asking the questions and paying attention is a very good sign. It is okay to be an introvert, even though our culture tries to make us think that everyone should act like Tony Robbins.
The most important thing is to relax and realize that life is a process and you don't have to have all the answers right now. Try to be true to your heart, and cut yourself the slack to make mistakes. Learning to balance all the different parts inside us is the point of the journey.
And the best thing you can do for other people (your kids included) is to lead by example - just be as true to yourself as you can, and be the best person you know how to be. Cats can be very good role models - watch how they behave.
