Prague.

Prague is beautiful and old.

Prague is overrun with tourists.

Prague has seen worse. It will endure the tourists and still be Prague after they too, have passed.

- - - - -

Ms. Count showed me about the town yesterday. These are my recollections from that and my wanderings the night before. So first, a thanks to a very lovely and EGL tourguide....

I hope you enjoy Praha as much as I did! I took hundreds of pictures. There was just so much to see.. everything was so old and beautiful. I hope you make it to Prague Castle and see the Cathedral there. It is spectacular!!!

In Berlin. Cant seem to find WiFi. This is a recurring problem. Id get a modem-card contract with Vodaphone if they had one in stock to sell me.

Now Im really wondering if I should have ever typed any passwords through this skeezy Russian Internet stand. Time to change the passwords...

Update: There's a much longer blog regarding the making of whiskey, plus many pictures at my primary blog. Permit me this moment of laziness to not convert all those pictures and addresses to SG standard format.

It's a bit of a trek here. From Edinburgh, it's a mere hour to Glasgow, then the next bus loops all the way up to Inveraray before...

I slept in for the beginning of June. I've only now woken up; chalk it up to summer laziness.

I'll dribble my month into July to round it out proper.
gangstaswan:
I'm jealous of your adventurous streak.

We're in London. Are we at a pub?

Love it when a plan comes together. Or when there isn't a plan but it still comes together.

Woke in Edinburgh today. Ms. Annalee graciously spent her day showing me the town.

First stop was St. Giles Cathedral; a classic old gothic cathedral which is still operating as a cathedral. This can't be taken for granted in Edinburgh. It's a town half built out of blackened old cathedrals and castles, only some of which are still serving their original purpose. The rest have...

It must be nice to have taken our weather with you. Please be sure to return it when you are finished.

Also, I'd love to go to the globe. Someday, someday.
toothpickmoe:
Well put about the food. On both counts.

Smashing you made it there, my brother would be happy. There really is nothing like seeing a production of one of Shakespeare's works by a company that truly understands what they're saying and doing.

Head hit pillow at early eve yesterday and 4 days of barely sleeping had their say. In vastly better shape now.

Day 2 in London

Intentions:

  • Get a proper scone hangover off excessive clotted cream consumption. Based on prior exposure from Anemilee this means a second spoonful.
  • Walk the Oxford U. campus. Get the scent of the place. - Hm. This is a ways out...

Greenwich is neat too!

Also, I've heard that Canadian customs are much tougher than they ever used to be.
hairyfatback:
Punch & Judy! For the love of puppetry, I must help you with this.

The only tips I have - Covent Garden is where P&J started out, so there's sometimes performances there. And there also should be regular shows (now that it's during the summer months) at Crystal Palace Park.

It's been an auspicious start to the journey abroad. An early morning waking, 2 transfers into Toronto, then Air India to Heathrow. I'm scribbling this out on the tube ride into central London.

It's all been pleasant so far. My last encounter with the Canadian authorities involved my not being allowed into their good country. This time they waved me into the side room where...

That's what you get for using a term like "Western Vegetarian" or was that like a checkbox thing? smile
