Had a hell of a time Thursday. I exchanged shifts with a girl at work and still hadn't heard back from her by the time I was going to pick up a ticket from Alliance Theater. I had left messages on her machine and e-mailed her twice. Because of this and the fact that Alliance had sold out of tickets I decided to get a...

I went to the Enviromental Justice lecture and Poetry Club meeting. I'm quite pleased with myself since I'm usually dead at 6pm and don't perk back up until around 10. Now the hell of Limiting Reagents. I did get some presents from my mom for my birthday, which included a smorgasboard of a Bath and Body works type set, a gospel CD(?), weights, and 13...

4h30 shift at the library. I'm going to have to get used to a shift this long. First I worked 6-12 0r 6-2am. I guess I've been spoiled by workstudy in terms of hours so far.
mattbavougian:
its on hold its reall just a collection of stuff
lilcupcakesjo:
Man, that's nice to be working at the library. I have to work at a burrito joint that I absolutely hate. Ack, I wish I could get a better job but school doesn't really allow for such a thing. Sigh
Guess who's back!
Wild couple of days though, around two with no power. Since the campus shut down early and I had no food I tried walking to CVS, in the middle of a storm, with flooded roads and no traffic lights. But I was desperate and hungry, so I assuaged myself with barbequed Pringles and yogurt covered pretzels. I didn't sleep much after that,...

"You that hide behind walls
You that hide behind desks
I just want you to know
I can see through your masks...
"You fasten all the triggers
For others to fire
Then you sit back and watch
While the death count gets higher
"You hide in your mansion
As young people's blood
Flows out of their bodies
And is buried in the mud...
"I think...

Similitude
Born from darkness in noisy tumult,
How joyously you churned, pure white,
A curled chrysanthemum of sparkling water,
Tumbling gleefully with bright new life . . .
How eagerly you parted, smoothly folding,
In haste to make your mark on wider scenes
Until, the tumult fading,
You lapped impotently on unknown shores
And in departing, left no mark at all. . . .

Just moved my stuff into my dorm room. It's a double and pretty big. The window/ seat? doubles as a bookcase. Very nice. My self described "pillow whore" roomate got a new tattoo, she designed it her self. Also very nice. I decided to stick with my history course which covers family and sexuality in pre-Modern Europe, although I am exchanging my African history course...

Sacre Coeur

In the space of two
lightly touching hands
Rodin saw tenderness, prayer,
a form of holiness he called
Cathedral. What is after all
the architecture of God?
If our Creators house is constructed
cruciform, if Spirit only enters
the clean, curved coolness
of mosque or synagogue,
what about the high-vaulted
moss-strewn corridor of trees
which leads me...

Every day you play with the light of the universe.
Subtle visitor, you arrive in the flower and the water.
You are more than this white head that I hold tightly
as a cluster of fruit, every day, between my hands.
You are like nobody since I love you.
Let me spread you out among yellow garlands.
Who writes your name in letters of smoke...

Oh, and as for Tech. It's where everything fun goes to die. Not a place you want to be. :/
