You missed me, didn't you?

I was busy reading Nabokov, coming up with screenplay ideas, writing letters to the editor about how much Bush sucks, watching movies, ordering subversive stickers, working, and coming up with interview questions for Rise Against and The Explosion. (No, not for SG. You want to read the interviews, keep an eye on Kaffeinebuzz. You could go there right now and...

Hey I came across this just know, and thought you may lwant to know about it.....

"Steve Moore continues to be bothered by post-concussion symptoms.

His two cracked vertebrae have healed, but Moore is still suffering from headaches and dizziness that has kept him from skating. Todd Bertuzzi, who is resposible for Moore's injuries, remains suspended by the NHL and will stand trial on January 17th for assault causing bodily harm."

So how ya doin?

Go, Kerry, go.

I am impressed. So much so, that I ordered Kerry bling. Yeah, that's right, I'm a sucker for sparkle. And for someone making Bush look stupid.

But you know, if I could choose one person to run this country right now, it'd probably be Jon Stewart. I mean, really, how great would the world be if we were run by comics?...

I miss Hilton Head!! I used to live in Palmetto Dunes in the summers while I was growing up.. about 3 months out of the year until I started playing high school football and baseball. I usually went back during winter breaks too, which was my favorite time of the year there. I might be back to visit at the end of this month... I haven't been there in 4 1/2 years!

A guy I worked with was in Newport Beach, CA for a show our gallery had and what did he return with... Kerry/Edwards pins! Mine is currently on my SG hoodie blush

I now own Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless mind on DVD. Spent my last $26 on it, too. Then ran into the friend from high school from last week once again--the one I didn't know if I should call. We got coffee (chai, in my case) and chatted for a while, and I read the interview with Flogging Molly in Alternative Press. My interview with...

Okay... I'm a total douche but I just wanted to let you know that I always love your posts in the feminists group so I got all warm and mushy when you wrote that you liked my story about holding the door for the old black man. blush
gnarface_killah:
They had a pretty cool story about your guy Alex Tanguay practicing with the DU Pioneers hockey team since the season is locked out. He seemed really cool with the guys and really was enjoying himself. Also Steve Konowalchuk was practing too

Au revoir, Aussie bartender.

He's off to Hawaii and didn't even make out with me. We did exchange emails and hug goodbye, though, so maybe I got a new friend out of it. There are worse things, right?

I spent most of today looking for skateboard parts at work. Then I got into a fight with the so-called supervisor, who spent most of his afternoon...

i have no idea why women put up with half the shit us guys do. but there are people out there who need something to complain about. not that her complaints aren't valid. but i know of too many girls who need to play the victim. sometimes getting out is harder then getting in. just look at trying to go back to college.... skull

Hmm. I think the Aussie boy is not interested. Or he's extraordinarily dense. I spent several hours last night at the bar chatting with him, though, and I enjoyed it even if I don't get to make out with him. He turned out to actually be a semi-interesting person. So we talked about the Beastie Boys (new album rocks it, in case you are the...

and regarding the beastie boys...i am the one person who hadn't heard.
i made a kid at work juggle to keep me entertained. i totally have minions.

Boys are fucking lame. Have you heard of this? The authours were on Oprah the other day (I know, I know...) and I was watching them thinking "you know, what they're saying makes a lot of sense..." but then I realized that if I followed their dating rules I would probably be single right now, never having forced Trip to go out with me in the first place. whatever In conclusion, boys are still fucking lame, even the ones who write books about boys being fucking lame.

I've gotta get my wisdom teeth out. Recipes for soft foods will be greatly appreciated.

I ran into this guy from high school last night. Hes waiting tables at the restaurant I went to with my parents. I had a crush on this guy, and we had one of those "we-like-each-other-but-it-doesn't-work-out" things, and I held on to it for a bit too long, but we...

Anything by the Marquis. I have a collection of his short stories, but I've been meaning to pick up a copy of Justine since forever. love

I had my wisdom teeth out last fall, I can recount it in agonizing detail if you'd like. tongue As for food, I ate a lot of Blizzards from Dairy Queen the first few days afterwards. Pudding, popcicles and jello are also good, but for something slightly more substantial I recommend smoothies comprised of 1 part frozen berries and 1 part either grape or cranberry juice... dump it all in a blender and let it go until smooth. Just try not to drink anything through a straw for a while because it can apparently mess up the healing process... something to do with negative pressure and blood clots. eeek

Lord of the Flies by William Golding. i love that book.

Canada has won the World Cup, and the NHL is locked out. Guess I need to find something else to write about.

I'm still job-hunting. Hire me, somebody.

The weather is gorgeous right now. And I'm at work, inside, on the computer, listening to Nick Cave and reading books that were banned in China. (as far as I can tell, all it takes to be...

Nice to see you back 'round these parts . I thought you disappeared . biggrin

Hellooo. I am back. You are jealous of me because:

I spent a week in the gorgeous city of Montreal eating fabulous food, drinking Boreale Rousse, making eyes at francophone boys, dancing to rock (thank goodness--those Denver eurotrash techno clubs nearly killed me), going to see Hero, reading newspapers in french, SHOPPING, catching up with my lovely friend Odette and her fabulous man, and oh...

And if you're between South Carolina and Montreal and would like me to visit you on my way, send me an email and we might could arrange that.

World Cup Hockey, here I come.

for some reason, every couple of weeks i feel the need to amble on over and catch up on your journal entries. i'm not really certain why, i guess i just like the way that you write, even though i'm quite surprised someone can write that much about hockey.

thats all, have a fun trip.

(i do like hockey by the way, its tops on my list of sports to watch live).

I've been watching the Olympics obsessively. You know, I'm not terribly patriotic--mostly, I think that patriotism is a waste of time (though I do have a maple leaf tattoo, so what the fuck am I really talking about?)--and obviously, the U.S. isn't much to be proud of these days, but when I look at all of these people who've worked so hard to get to...

Who cares what is and isn't punk. I thought that was one of the concepts... not caring what others thought of you for being you.

I wish I had the chance to play volleyball in college. In HS all I wanted to do (besides work in a BSL-4 lab) was play on the womens olympic volleyball team.
ironbhr:
there is nothing wrong with being "punk" and loving sports besides the whole soccer hooligans things. it's very punk to be an olympic caliber athlete. just think about all the things that they have to do with out. sure their self discipline is not punk. but that whole thing of doing it yourself....yeah sports are punk rock. give your horse a mowhawk! skull

Job Wanted:

Obsessively detail-oriented writer/photographer/wannabe filmmaker seeks well-paid position (or at least enough to live on and travel occasionally) doing just about anything. Can write decently about hockey, music, film, politics, literature, horses, fashion, and various other subjects. Not easily starstruck and willing to be nasty when necessary, but does not find it necessary to tear things up for ego's sake. Willing to relocate anywhere...

I think the only thing harder than knowing someone you love is unhappy is knowing that someone you love is doing okay, but having second thoughts about something.

maybe I'm reading too much into it.

more later. for now, I saw my ex-boyfriend yesterday. I'm still figuring out how I feel. More later.

Exes always have a way of messing with your head no matter how they're doing . It's probably best to just try not to pay attention to the guy . Of course I say this and I still wonder how my ex is doing . Guess there's no easy answers .

Oh , and a midget with a mullet would be DANGEROUSLY funny . biggrin

that is always a weird experience. i had the pleasure of visiting the girl i was with for five years and her daughter (not mine) the other day. it was really really weird. it had me all f'd up.
