I'm (still) just looking for a kiss...

Last entry was rad, but it is a new year and time for new entries.

2004 is over and I am very happy to see it go. It brought me a little bit of good and a whole lot of bad--mostly shot my self-esteem to shit a bit at a time, from work to friends to everything else....

To please myself and only myself. It is my life, and I have not yet met the person that gets to make me compromise it.

THAT is a great one. I think that has been some of the problem with my past relationships. I compromised who was was.

Well at least this time, he KNOWS who I am and yet he likes me anyway... how strange wink

Hope 2005 brings you all that you are looking for smile

So I'm trying to come up with a really intelligent way to respond to that, but instead I'll just say you seem extremeley cool.

...I'm just looking for a kiss. -the New York Dolls

I really miss kissing more than sex. I love first kisses. I love all the kisses in between. I love movie kisses and novel kisses...

i can only think of one favorite movie kiss:

bill pullman and kim dickens in ZERO EFFECT. it is pullman's characters first kiss. it is so tentative and shy and exploratory.

it does not hurt that i have the hugest crush in the world on kim dicken's character in that movie.

i love that movie.

ok, i'm off to write about kissing in MY journal now...

happy new year
mylf:
It's pretty sad that I don't have many memorable kisses. The ones I remember the most are from this summer, and last summer.

Well there are two kisses besides the summer ones though these can't even really compare... they were right before I started dating the person who would become my fiancee. First was with a guy that was so bad for me but was so sexually compatable it was insane. After we tried dating (and failed miserably) we were great fuck-buddies. This was the goodbye last kiss. Damn. If our relationship couls have been half as good as that kiss... The next was with my summer fling that year (dude what is it with me and the summer?) We were at a club for his birthday and out of nowhere in the middle of a sentence he just grabbed me and pulled me in for a kiss. I think after about 30 sec he was completely supporting me. It was a full out weak in the knees, loss of breath kiss.
I've only had one kiss that good since. But the guy it was with makes me happier than I could ever have imagined. smile Just 41 more days...

Happy New Year!

I am so effing SICK of people telling me my ideas won't pan out. I do enough of that on my own without help from supposed friends.

BuckyKatt666 and I had a chat about humility the other day, which dovetailed nicely with a comment someone made about moms trying to make you feel shitty for doing things they'd be afraid to do. And all of...

I'm sure that everybody that wrote an original story got shot down by a bunch of people before it finally caught on . Maybe if you're serious about writing as a profession you can compromise a bit and write some commercially viable crap until you hit it big . You're not selling your soul as long as you keep your desire to tell GOOD stories intact . It may take a little time , and you gotta' eat . wink

The new Nick Cave double album is AWSOME . I liked Abbatoir Blues a lot more than Lyre Of Orpheus , but there was some good stuff on it as well . Hope you dig it . biggrin

Whee! XXXmas. Mine isn't really very x-rated, though. Drank too much and got maudlin at dinner and with friends, and woke up xmas morning with a headache. French toast helped, though my ass is now not quite small enough for the Diesel jeans my sister got me. I also FINALLY got the Diane Arbus "revelations" book, Coffee & Cigarettes and Fahrenheit 9/11 on DVD, and...

I applaud bitchiness, personally. And it's especially acceptable when you are right and most everyone else is wrong...
Don't worry about whining, hon. I think that's partially what having a sg journal is for.. and the holidays are sort of designed to put us in a position where everyone gets on our last nerve.

So, since it's coming up on New Year's and I'm doing some soul-searching, I'm working on a list of things that I REALLY want to do. Since I'm getting nowhere trying to accomplish things that I don't want to do anyway....

1. write fiction. come up with a plot that sticks and finish it!
2. write a comic! this part requires a partner in crime,...

I used to dress like a rockstar. High heels, short skirts, jewelry, boots, corsets, wigs, clip-on hair...

Going out was a production. Half the fun was doing my makeup and hair and choosing an outfit. I danced on the stage down in New Orleans and flirted like crazy with everything that crossed my path.

Somewhere in between then and now, I got lazy. Started spending...

i have to go get dressed like a rockstar now and dance on a stage wink

I think I'm getting sick.

New Twwly set!!! Gorgeous, as per usual.

Sin City is the number-one most requested flick on Moviefone, and it doesn't come out until April. I may have to start counting days.

I feel too shitty to think, so here's more song lyrics that should've been written about me:

I was in a really deep funk last night. Hating the job hunt and hanging out with girls young enough to still think that they've got all the answers, and my friends who manage to innocently make me feel like a super-slut when I don't even believe in sluts.

But I went to sleep, and it was better in the morning.

See, there are plenty...

My friend Jay and I are playing phone-tag again. But this time it's making me mad because Rhett's in town and he's with Jay. I called him on Wednesday. He called me back and said he'd call me Thursday after work. He didn't, so I called him. Said I was going to dinner with the parents and he should call me in a few hours....

NETWORK is pretty fun. its psychotically over-dramatic, but all of the actors are really good so it's forgivable... plus it just seems like it was supposed to be a play as there are many monologues, but the whole thing is neat and crazy and i'm surprised i'd never heard of it.

when i was home for the thanksgiving, i was explaining the joys of netflix to one of my best friends and he just made me a list of movies to queue when i got home.

he and i have such similar tastes that i'll trust any of his recommendations blindly....

we used to live together; our video collections dovetailed magnificently

i had CONAN THE BARBARIAN; he had CONAN THE DESTROYER

i had THE BREAKFAST CLUB; he had SIXTEEN CANDLES

it was awesome. i've never missed someone's video collection so much biggrin
