Today has been a long exercise in sexual frustration. Highlights:
N. making jokes about a kiddie-kart strap in use as a bondage device.
Fred and I discussing his lingerie fetish extensively.
Unreturned phone call from someone I shouldn't sleep with anyway.
Adrien Brody movie (The Jacket, not terribly good, but oh well...) involving lots of semi-nudity and a semi-hot sex scene with the...

Speaking of Hot Man, I did go see the Pacifier. Haha.

Thank you for the corset pics. Just lovely!
thanks for all the recommendations. Movies have been added to my netflix queue, songs may be downloaded until I can afford to buy tons of albums, books will be hunted for at my shit-ass public library, and websites checked out.
Philly, Baltimore, and NYC were good to me, mostly. My plans got completely jostled by shitty weather and SOMEONE cancelling on me, but that just...

Nice to meet you too. I recommend the movie Frailty by Bill Paxton. It's awesome....
I'm in Philly.
I will be back to my regularly scheduled life sometime this weekend.
Until then, I want everyone who comes to my journal to recommend me:
1. A book
2. A movie
3. A record (not just a band, I want specifics!)
4. A website
that you think I should check out.

yeah, i definitely thought the beginning was a total cliche... but i was actually afraid it was going to:
A turn into a shitty older-man, younger woman love story
or
B turn into a "i got famous now i leave you" story,
that twist came totally out of nowhere. i love it when that happens, but i'm still really pissed about it all... good times.
I'll have some recommendations later...

1) House of Spirits by Isabel Allenda- Sometimes I forget how much I like this book. Not, perhaps, a great piece of literature... but I love it.
2) All About Eve- Bette Davis makes me swoon
3) Scar by Joe Henry- I'm currently listening to it and I think I may be biased because of the reference in the title track to a twisting vine (note the tattoo) but I think it's damn sexy.
4) pandas are our friends
'kay... your turn

So. fucking. tired.
Drove to Columbia and back yesterday for the Lucero show, which was not nearly long enough. But any amount of time seeing them, really, is good, singing along and dancing a little in place, by myself, watching the lights change and play off tattooed arms, ripped jeans, black t-shirts and sweatshirts...

Sorry sweetie, we were out all day yesterday. Allll day. It was a lonnnng day. We have too many errands to run for me to be able to duck out to NYC for the bulk of the day, sadly.

I'm sorry, is it just me, or is this rather an overreation?
A story from 8 years ago which somehow explains a lot about me:
I don't remember how it started. I remember "meeting" him at the mall and some wiseass comments he made about me having a big...nose. Pretty blonde blue-eyed Aryan boy, he knew it, and yet somehow he was a joke in the way that boys are who are too conventionally attractive in a...

What day are you coming up again? Email me agaiiiin, sil vous plais.
Dwelling in the past gave me perspective on the present and future.
I feel like I've regained the upper hand in my life. Control is where it should be: in my hands.
I woke up this morning to Bruce Springsteen, "Hungry Heart," then Lou Reed, "Walk on the Wild Side." Good radio station. I knew it was going to be a good day.

Going to see Shinedown. My boyfriend is really into them. I think they're pretty good, but mostly have heard they do an awesome stage show, so I can't wait.

I'm of the opinion that good songs on the radio can change the course of your entire day.
Something about the radio frequency, maybe.
Give life what-for.

I found old love notes from high school today. Also pictures of the first boy that broke my heart.
Nothing makes you feel better about yourself than reading the lovely things someone said about you.
I should've dated that boy. He was willing to put himself on the line over me. Probably the first one ever. I was scared of it, but that's what happens...

everything I had from the teenage love years unfortunately got left behind when I moved. I had things from the boy's dad, but I think I may have thrown it away lst time I claned my room.
I'd love to look at the HS things once more before I give them up for good. I tis good to look back at the past as long as it doesn't prevent you from moving into the future.

Hey, saw some comments you had in Smead's journal and thought you might care to know that Club One is doing goth nights on Thursday nights now and fetish shows on every third Thursday of the month (I believe, would have to check on that) if you're into that kind of thing.

Forget my bitching and moaning.
I just went to see The Sea Inside and it swept away all of my shitty feelings. Then I took a walk around the plaza and breathed cold rain sea air and thought about the things I've got to be thankful for and the things that I really want, and the best ways to go about getting them.

I've heard some good things about that movie. I'm definitley going to have to see it.
Well, I was right about all but two.
The Academy can suck it, though. What does Martin Scorsese have to do to get some effing recognition?
I am taking a much-needed day off tomorrow. If I didn't, I would probably stab someone who, in all honesty, does not deserve it.

I blame the NHL for your woes. Right now you'd be going on and on about your hockey crushes just as passionately and intelligently (did I Bush that?) as you would about literature or politics.
Gary Bettman may you rot in hell.

Updating, because Jon Spencer is one sexy motherfucker and you all should buy the Heavy Trash CD when it comes out. Yeah, you heard me.
I really wish I had as much power as I pretend to. I also wish that I knew more men who look, sing, think, and move like Jon Spencer. Life without a crush is tough. Luckily, I get to see...

Hey, thanks for the insiders info about New Orleans!
It seems than no New Orleans natives like the Jazz Fest, but I don't care. I'm going to have a blast!
You should come to Exotic World this year. It will be my first year going, and I'm organizing a road trip with a bunch of my students. Fun!

what about quintron and ms. pussycat? sexy? uh... hell yes!
New Jon Spencer and Matt Verta-Ray project cd in my mail. Along with a bunch of other crap, but who the hell cares? Free Jon Spencer music for me!
Now if they could only find a way to clone him so that I could get a free Jon Spencer in my mailbox instead.
I need to clean my room.

Noij Noij Noij on the HST article! You bring up an excellent point about him possibly having a hand in furthering the infotainment aspect of our current media. I hadn't really thought about facet.
Truly, the world does feel lessened without him. I was completely unprepared to recognize just how much he meant to me.

Very, very good.
N. & I went for lunch today and had a really cool talk. I really do love this boy to pieces and am even starting to be glad he's met someone he obviously really likes. Even if there's no way in hell she's cooler than me.
We struck an agreement about the show. He doesn't have to go, he will go with me next time...
