Went out drinking last night - shock horror! - and managed to injure a finger on each hand. For the record, drunken spaziness will lead to your fingers getting caught in a dodgily-made wooden chair. And you won't be able to play guitar, and that will annoy you.

Plans for India are like, 90% finalised. Awesome.

What's the worst injury you've ever gotten?

I had my head slammed in a door at a punk gig a few weeks ago. Not once, but 3 times in a row. I still have a lump.

Wow! I love Iron and Wine too! Not that that is a very big coincidence, oh well. Hello!

- I want a joint. Or maybe a few. How am I supposed to listen to The Beatles and The Shins at 4am and not have a joint? Honestly! Maybe I'll need to change my policy of never paying for pot, ever. (It's not a moral reason, it's just that I'm a cheap bastard).

- I don't need surgery any more. My back thing totally...

Look them up. The main guy is a great songwriter. He's sort of part of the new folk scene (along with Devendera Barnhardt, Sufjan Stevens), but a little older. People compare them to Neutral Milk Hotel, which I guess I see. Tallahassee is the album I've been listening to. I think it's their first major studio record (it's a couple of years old), and it sounds a lot cleaner than their earlier stuff.

Look them up on Allmusic or something, their better at breaking down influences and stuff than I.

I'm moving to Melbs...

Just me and my violin and my camera.

I'm seeing Bright Eyes at the PoW on the 7th of April. I'm so excited I almost peed my pants.

My last few updates have listed awesome things. Unfortunately, it's time for the top 2. not awesome things of the past few days:

2. I need to have surgery. It's totally minor - just to remove an accumul... yeah, you don't want to the details. It's not gross, but if you're not a medical student, you're not interested, right? Haha.

1. That means going to...

I'm not going to Nepal. frown Aww, yes. That sucks a little. But it's not worth the risk of being around madness, violence and a country without any constitution at all. If I'm going to die travelling, I'd rather it wasn't at the hands of the Nepalese military. I'd rather it was while I was doing something awesome and revolutionary, like starting an uprising or uh......

3 Awesome Things:

3. I finally handed in my passport application. Finally. It was a lot of stress for some bizarre, cosmic reason. In keeping with passport photo tradition, I'm pictured looking like a dirty goddamned drug fiend; think red eyes, red nose, and all the other hot features you get from hayfever.

2. My cats sitting near the window in the morning, sketching out...

Top 5 Things Of The Week:

5. Bought new socks. I love new socks so much. Like, before they've been washed, and they're fresh and awesome. New socks are the best.

4. Bought two Dandy Warhols records, a Randy Newman record, The River by Springsteen, Tracy Chapman's first record, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club's sophomore album and more. All of them are awesome.

3. Had drinking...

I'm glad IC is in the textbooks these days. Thanks for reading that part.
I had to read these med texts for my thesis and it sucked so bad. It made my head hurt. which was appropriate because I was reading about brain structures.

Cringe on, you bastards, I know I would... I've got a blog. I prefer to call it a collection. Yes, a collection. Check it:

It's one of the top 40 000 blogs on the Internet, and it's only been up for like, two minutes. Of course, I just made that statistic up.

My account will run out soon, but I'll...

10 Awesome Things:

10. Seeing Grinspoon tomorrow. And interviewing them too. Even though interviewing bands involves thinking of vaguely interesting questions, and that takes effort.
9. Seeing the Shins in early February.
8. Old-school travel bags that make you look like some sort of swish 70s drug pig.
7. Pork pie hats.
6. Robots.
5. That I'm going to Nepal and India and maybe China...

A review extravaganza:
Tim Buckley - Greetings From LA:
With Greetings From LA, Tim is pure sex cheating and slutting and thrusting his way through seven soul rock numbers. And, at the time, it was a shock. Before Greetings... Tim was a folkie through and through. Sure, he was a little more attractively esoteric, and he was far more willing to mix up his...

I'm now in Dandenong, a little mini-city outside Melbourne. It's grey and rainy, and my mum and I spent most of the day trying to sort of a wire transfer of cash which was delayed thanks to public holidays. Very exciting.

I'm staying in the doctor's residence at Dandenong hospital. I'll probably spend this week volunteering as an orderly, helping out sick folk and showing...

I'm at a YHA in Melbourne at the worst computer screen ever! Driving through country Australia is always good. Some amazing hills, mountains, trees, skies. Very nice. But tiring.

I've been cycling around North Melbourne looking for second hand bookstores. Can't find any. Tomorrow I think I'll go see the Edward Munch exhibition, which will be awesome. I'm looking forward to seeing the Casanovas, Dallas...

Ho ho ho! Merry Christmas all.

I'm driving down to Melbourne tomorrow. First stop Canberra. I've also been working on an itinerary for the Nepal / Bangkok trip. I think I'll be in Nepal for 3 weeks or so, and I'll get a plane over to India while I'm there, and stay there for 2 weeks. Which will be awesome, but incredibly full-on from what...
