1. I've yet to hear it (not surprising, considering I never listen to the radio), but I adored their first album ("Wait and Bleed" is an amazingly catchy tune). Their second album, Iowa, left me more than a little cold. I suppose I'll give this new one a chance when it comes out.

The way the sports media is pimping it, it's almost like he pitched it with a blown elbow against the Murder's Row Yankees after promising a set of cojoined twins (who just happen to now be on the mend after he donated one of his kidneys to them that morning) that he'd pitch the game, and after the game he built a time machine, went back in time and killed Hitler. As for the issue of comparing from different eras, I think you can kinda-sorta-but-not-really do it if you look at it holistically, trying to factor in many different factors. And even then you're left with a simple opinion not entirely unlike comparing two players in the same era; everyone sees things differently.

9. The Dirty Dancing due is leaving? I wouldn't really get in a twist over the lack of awards; they're pretty meaningless.

10. I never got on the Vin Diesel bandwagon. The only reason Pitch Black held any appeal for me was because Claudia Black was in it. I thought he was decent in it, but nothing spectacular. My opinion of his other films are pretty close to yours. Though I did rather like him in Knockaround Guys where he gives his little speech about fighting. I'll probably catch Chronicles on video, and I expect it to do poorly. I suspect Diesel's roles will be fewer from here on out.

You're more than likely having trouble remembering things because you lack a context to remember them in regards to bartending. Think back to the last time you tried to learn something that was not an extension of a skill you previously had (i.e. not building on a context). Once you learn a context, a basic framework from which to build, you'll start remembering the details better.

The dropping of the boyfriend bomb can be several things. More often than not it's a signal that you've moved slightly too fast in your seduction. As long as she is comfortable and is having fun, there will be no mention of a boyfriend. The boyfriend does not exist to the girl who is having fun and is enjoying your company right now. When you move a bit too fast, or press a bit, she suddenly is not having fun and is no longer comfortable; the boyfriend is brought up to make you stop. Now, you can always ignore that fact that she has a boyfriend and go back to having a good time, move a bit slower, and possibly get something going with her. Or you can consider her taken and move on. Depends on what type of person you are, and what type of person she is.

I freelance fiction, mostly. A lot of write for hire stuff, which, unfortunately, means that I no longer hold the copyright on it. Some essays, manuals, and whatnot. Whatever I can get paid for, really.

i forgot to post about my play read through. but it went really well, i got some really good feedback. i think it might get a staged reading this summer because a girl in my class has this theatre group and she really loved it.

it felt great. you know, toiling alone in my apartment sucks sometimes, so when people get what you're trying to do...it feels amazing.

I think bad times can be a test...but are very trying on the nerves. i don't have many friends and loved ones...The only person I really have is my 13 year old brother who I can talk to. I want him to stay a kid- i don't want to bug him. My friends and family are sick of my problems- that's what mood problems do to people. oh well....maybe i should stay offline until i feel happier

I can sympathize w/ the job troubles... Prior to the one I have now, I was unemployed for a stretch of 6 months. IT's nothing I'd care to repeat again. I never earned my BA from music school so, there were dozens of jobs that realistically I was qualified, even over-qualified for but, wasn't eligible.
