The easiest DVR conversion would likely be making it into a Myth TV box...their WIkipedia page can be found here and a very good intro/how-to video can be found & downloaded at this page here. It would involve picking up an additional one, maybe two video cards but you may be able to shop around ebay, etc. to find a couple of matching models to fit the bill.

I'm thinking about trying to buy a used Mac desktop on eBay (possibly an iMac, but probably a Mac Mini because I already have a perfectly good monitor). Ebay is all good. I wouldnt be nervous about bidding on something, youll do fine, just be sure its something you want and DONT be afraid to ask questions of a seller on an item you may want.
And if that doesnt work then at least you saved money buying the remote. I would also recommend calling all the jeep dealers in the area. One of them has to offer the program service for free. Try the ritsy towns like Westport and Greenwich. Those people will bitch up a storm if they have to pay so they might just offer it up.
~ Had the same remote prob with my Explorer, I sympathise...
~ And OK, if she's hot, it doesn't really matter what your age is, she's still hot!
