I've seen some river surfing before. It looks pretty hard core. A lot of people kayak the bay here. I think I'll start with that before I get into the heavy stuff. So many things to do and it seems like so little time. I'm going to teach my son to catch his first wave next summer. I can't wait to see the stoke on the little guy's face!

Hey,

Thanks for the advice, when I used to paint on canvas I made all my own stretchers and stuff like that.

It had just been a long time since I had been in a wood shop and I kinda forgot all the basics with this I guess.

The fact that this dude was "helping" me and didn't let me actually get in there and do it myself made it worse. I'm far better at accepting mistakes when they are my own.

I actually fixed it though. It all worked out. I was just too "into" it and pissed off to realize what needed to be done. I talked to the boy, he calmed me down and as soon as I got off the phone with him and looked at everything again I knew what I needed to do. They're not exactly what I wanted but, they'll do and it's far better than starting to do new work for a deadline that's three days away.

It's kinda my first show, the first show that actually means something anyways and it wouldn't be me without a crisis involved.

Thanks so much for the comment though. Usually when I post things about art, questions, rants...anything (usually in the painters group) my shit goes unanswered or I get stupid little answers when I want BIG ASS LONG INSTRUCTION answers like yours was.

I'm Faye by the way...nice to meet you.

For the show itself, not that I'm aware of. If you have facebook there is a privet group for the gallery, there is a site but it's not done yet.

I am often amazed by the average person's affinity for some of my artwork. I am even more amazed when they stop their train of thought and get carried away, even for just a moment, by some specific aspect of the work. Most of my motivation for creating is born from a fascination with beauty and those things which give me a sense of wonder...

hell yes indeed; I've been trying to get some time off for ever. Arts Council England don't seem to want to give me a grant.

yeah, it's a completely new set now. smile

i'm glad someone actually "got" your work. it must be nice for a change, i don't meet many people who would "get" most artwork at all. and that's a shame..

I just got a huge compliment from someone I respect (in the computer/internet world) about my website. I, personally, think the site is a bit amature, but this person said that the layout was simple (in a world of clutter) and it clearly represented all of the things that I am into.

And as a side note, I just made an update on my...
