I'm heading to Vietnam for three weeks at the end of October. Anyone been? I'm looking for recommendations and things not-to-miss. Flying into Ho Chi Min City/Saigon and the sky's the limit from there. I have quite a bit of research to do.

Originally I was pretty proud of myself for taking three weeks but now that's not feeling like very long. Do people take...

Getting settled in SF after a week in the ATL and a cross-country trip back through LA and a few days there. I picked up Route 66 in Oklahoma and was able to stick to towards the end of the trip.

Had an unexpected moment in Atlanta where I missed SF for a moment-- not what i was expecting after barely two months in city,...

It's been a crazy whirlwind, but I started a job in SF last week. I'm back in the ATL for one more week! I'm wrapping up business here: packing my final few things, getting my condo rented, and visiting with friends as much as possible. Oh yeah, and working remote for my new job. Everything's a bit of a blur and I'm feeling hella...

I don't suppose you're a Braves fan? They'll be rolling into town for some annual abuse courtesy of the Gigantes real soon.

Folks, peeps, and playas:
I'm here, alive, and moving to San Francisco. I go back and forth between excitement and dread (mainly due to the logistics of the move) but it's happening. At the moment it looks like I'll be living in a fabulous apartment in the sunny Mission, right down from Delores Park.

I've been in Atlanta for-ever, so pulling away is going...

Boys & girls, ladies and gentlemen;
Checking in for what has become a relatively rare occurance: a new post! Kinda sad in a way. I cannot say i've been traveling all over the world or anything quite so adventurous. Rather my priorities have changed a bit over time and i'm not looking for quite the same level of action-- neither from my local ATLien buds...

Time for a new post, y'all. I'm feeling way out of touch with some of ya.

Things are going well. Need to get back in the writing mood.

Here's a random thought: I find cigarette smoking during the day a bit trashy, yet after dark i consider it sexy. Does anyone else share my sentiments?

Goodnight!
bbkaro:
I'm passively-aggressively discouraging daytime smoking in my girlfriend. She says, however, that when we go out drinking she needs to light up. I'm all for it when I'm tipsy. Even sorta like the taste, methinks.
thai:
i find cigarette smoking to be yucky, but i guess when you are drunk enough (by night) it doesn't matter. but i would preferred a mouth over an ash tray.
(not to offend anyone)

Not yet.

After seeing that awesome picture, I felt inclined to read the website, and after reading that site I feel inclined to see the movie.

It sounds very interesting. Did you see it at Tara or rent it?

ooo aaa ooo aaa
hasselhoff:
Damn that looks so fucking cool. I guess I will have to see that.

it's funny how you can find something to complain about even when things are going really well.

I have already done something similiar, perhaps I will do it again. Thanks for the encouragement!

i'm back! again! and i'm leaving for Hong Kong on Saturday, then on to Shanghai!

it's a little intense considering i just returned from Asia a little more than two months ago (Indonesia/Bali and Malaysia), but this time it's quasi-business related. although i'm presently unemployed (ah, the contracting lifestyle...) i'm going to a conference in Shanghai where i hope to make some contacts for work...

AN UPDATING FOOL

not too much to report except my pre-travel gig has dried up completely. i was hoping to get a few weeks of work in before heading across the ocean but things kept getting pushed back.

therefore, i've decided to move my travels UP! i'll be leaving on Thursday the 22nd for Indonesia, which will give me a solid three weeks there....

Ohmygod! I am so jealous. I am currently obseesed with Bali. Please pack me in your suitcase and leave me there. Please take a thousand pictures and post them. Def. do a lot of yoga there. Okay I have to go before I turn any greener!

(Newark to Manhattan and back... in more like five hours if your gonna make it to the plane. It could be done but depending on the time of day, traffic etc... maybe not totally worth it. You could def. go and eat dinner or something. I'm pretty sure any cab will take you from the airport to the city and back for $45 flat each way but I could be thinking of JFK.)
