I’ve been a little annoyed lately with the removal of locations from profiles. Granted it’s not a big deal and I’ll explain my issue with it momentarily, it’s not really upsetting to any degree I just was wondering if I was alone in my feelings.
I’m not sure the reason for the removal of members locations considering it was optional before perhaps the new site owners felt it was for security or perhaps they felt it added nothing to our daily interactions. I really have no clue but to me it always added something to the community.
We joined this community because we belong to one culture or at least one large similar cultural group, one that appreciates the defiant ones. We love body art, body mods, we love the arts in general. And we are outside the mainstream. Also we love beautiful women and their rebellious spirits. Theses are our commonalities.
Yet for all that we have in common we come from hundreds of different places each with differences from rather severe to subtle and sublime. Knowing these differences leads to understanding in other areas. I for one appreciated having an idea where all of my friends on the site were from not because I’ll probably ever see them in person but just because it gives me a perspective when reading comments or blog posts, etc.
Anyway, just my two cents worth...
