I'm grateful to you for bringing Bernie Sanders to my attention. Today's politics is most often about currying favor with the rich and powerful, so it's short term self interest all the way. This involves deceit, ignoring the truth when it's inconvenient, abdicating all responsibility to the common good and ultimately suppressing our natural instincts as social beings. It's wonderful to discover a civilized and thoughtful person like you to lessen the pain of contemplating  so much of what's happening in the world these days.

My dearest @yugen.  I wish to add one last thought to what I previously said.  I read what you have to say about yourself / your aims on the Etsy site.  You express the hope that every single person that crosses your path will influence, inspire and motivate you to reach your goals one day.  Perhaps one of the things to understand is that we are most certainly influenced by our parents, sometimes in a very destructive way that leaves plenty emotional scars as you know only too well.  And these have to be dealt with.  But and it is a huge but - they don't define nor caused who we are and where we need to go in this life.  That goal deeply embedded in us and of which we only vaguely sometimes see a hint or a shadow - that goal is part of the beauty that is the central core of our beings.  It defines us or we are it and we will reach it no matter what.  It sometimes requires a bit of looking backwards at our own lives to recognise the thread - a little haphazard as it is.  You are the beauty named Sara - live it!  Those around you will surely respond to it.
