I'm so happy to see that my piece has gone up. My set is an art piece, performance piece, done in a gallery setting and then intervening into a setting where nudity is sexualized. It's a comment on audience and context as well as the many roots of feminine power, empowerment, and influence. The actual publication of this performance art documented homage is part of...

Thank you. In what I do for work, I've always tried to look at things as a natural progression that a body makes. The body is powerful and amazing. Often people are upset by small imperfections or illness because society has put unrealistic and untrue norms on the human form.
Great statement and again, thanks.

that set was really well done smile

Last night we had an awesome fundraiser at the Lex for my gallery. Bombshell Betty and her crew of fabulous burlesque dancers entertained for the evening as well as the fabulous djs Arm & Hammer. The place was packed and we all had a lot of fun. I ran into a couple kids I knew from college which was fun.

I'm back from NYC and soooo happy to be home. I had an absolutely fabulous time in New York but I missed my girl and my cat. Thursday night here was amazing. My gallery is hosting a monthly spoken word event called GenderEnders that features trans/genderqueer/intersex spoken word artists. It was amazingly sucessful with a full crowd in attendence. We were even filmed for Canada's...

And tonight Will and I are going out for dinner and drinks and I want to try to hit up this spoken word event at Bluestockings. So much to do and so litle time. But...

I just saw Magnetic Fields tonight. I would say it was one of the top ten shows I've been to in my life. It was amazing the band was so funny and adorable and talented and brilliant. Did I mentioned I had a fabulous time? I had to buy a ticket from a scalper for $50 which I never pay that much for a show,...

Hey, thank you so much for telling me about Two Gallants. I listened to the songs on the site and I think they're wonderful -- I'll be sure to try and get their album.

Like I really need to buy more music whatever
llouys:
o man, i so love the magnetic fields...

i think the new album is great, people seem to be dissing it for some reason, but i think it's just because it's too easy to compare to 69 love songs, which is sort of pointless...

mmm, 'evil twin.'

I made it to NYC alive and well. Planes and airports freak me out and scare the hell out of me. I'm interviewing Pilot to Gunner while I'm here for AMP. I'm so hungry. I've only had crackers on the plane and there are know yummy burittos or falefels in site.
friedbanana105:
well now that the flying is over you can start having fun! how long are you going to be there?
skryche:
Yow! Welcome back!

And, yeah, NY is tragic for burritos.

Heather and I got dressed up and got our photo taken and met fabulous people like Natalie, who is absolutely adorable. I hope I get to hang out with her before she leaves SF. I can almost breathe. I'm catching up at work, the opening for Femina Potens new show went well and the performance piece I did tonight was ok. I wasn't crazy about the gallery at the least. Nothing against this gallery or anything its just I felt like there wasn't room for the piece that I did. But I think we got some nice documentation of the...
