Last weekend I arrived back home to California from a month in Munich. While I was gone.... this happened. We don't know why. The tow dude said it was an "issue with the fuel line"- on a 2010 Subaru Outback??? WTF?? My roommate's boyfriend was driving and he said the car slowed down for no reason and black smoke came out from under the hood so he pulled over and ran before it exploded into flames. Fortunately no one was hurt, but I am financially fucked. I did not have comprehensive insurance... so I don't get a cent. It's also been at the tow yard for a couple weeks now because I was out of the country and couldn't do anything. CHP won't investigate why this happened- they say to make insurance do it. Geico won't do it because I didn't have the proper insurance for this. So. I have no car and am in debt to the tow yard. That's cool. The best part is that this was my mother's car. I left this my work (shooting) with few exceptions for about the last year and a half because my mother passed away last year February. This was the last big piece of her I had left and now it's a pile of metal and ashes. So. Yeah. That's cool. At least I don't have to bring a car to Munich when I move.
