Yay!!

New profile pic!

Hmmm....this year I plan to keep up with SG better. I love this friggin site. It makes no sense to spend my free time on lesser, frivolous sites.
So yeah, I need to get ready for work now.....but I'll be back. wink

Whoah! Does time fly or what??

Made an attempt this week to get all my X-Mas shopping done in ONE DAY. Sadly, I must report that the attempt was unsuccessful.
Looks like I'll have to head out at least one more day. Egads!

Speaking of X-Mas shopping....
*pssssss* I updated my Amazon list.

No pressure guys....I'm just saying. wink

Okay kiddos!

Left 4 Dead 2 comes out at 12:01am Tuesday.

I am looking to find some people on X-Box Live who are going to be playing it. We can learn the boards together, plan strategies, and beat the fluff out of less experienced players. wink

Why the vindictive attitude, you ask??

Well, because I only recently started using my X-Box Live account in an attempt...

Keep an eye out for my BF yoshybeastthing and his friend failure to loose. They play a great deal of this game and they seem to do well.

Just testing to see if I can link to my site here on my blog:

Squeakmachine.com

I've been having issues with posting links to my site. Sometimes it just gets redirected to SG's homepage or to a 404 error page. Let me know if this link doesn't work for you and where it links you to so I know how to report the bug.
Thanks!!...

As someone who does program video games for a living, the best advice for your sister is "Start". Seriously there's tons of stuff out there, and it looks great on a resume. You can download the unreal engine for free to learn on now, flash is a great way to get started, hell the ui for most games are now written in flash. Oh and after my last two weeks, please please learn how async file operations work.
taolie:
I just have to say, "geek" trumps "hot chick" any day. In fact, being geeky can help one level up from "pretty" to "hot" in one turn!

(And a geeky SG is a prestige class all its own!)

/two cents wink

I haven't posted pics on here in quite awhile.

I have been neglecting my SG blog in favor of my Twitter as of late. Twitter has an edge in the 'instant gratification' department...plus it is more convenient and much faster to post pictures on there.

But I did not completely forget about you guys!
I've done quite a few new photoshoots this past month...here are...

I am continuing the sheet rant from the other day. (Go back to my last blog if you are catching up).

Porphyria and some others brought up some interesting counter points to the "weekly sheet changing" ideal. I love playing devil's advocate so even though their argument counters my own bi-weekly sheet changing habit, I will still bring this up because, honestly, it made me...

I swear, by the end of this, I'm gonna end up with an OCD! tongue In lieu of buying a new one, I only take my winter coat to the cleaners once a season. At the end of winter, of course, before I hang it in the closet and then the following seasons to ward off mildew and mold while not being worn.
aldremech:
The lack of needing a winter coat here pretty much invalidates any kind of laundering necessity on my behalf, but considering it was 93 damn degrees today will definately enforce my weekly sheet washing. If you wind up skipping a week, no harm, no foul wink

So Martha Stewart is doing a little survey on her Twitter (of course I follow her!) about bed linens.

She is asking people how many sets they own and how often they change them. It got me thinking..."how often is one supposed to change their bed linens??" I did a search to see what other people were answering her and the majority of answers seem...

seth_:
Yes, about every 2 weeks, sometimes longer if I'm out of money for laundry. And yes, I'll change them more if I have guests coming in and out or whatever, but nothing ridiculous like every 4 days!
tpring00:
I change my sheets every 5 days. I also have about 10 sets of sheets so I only wash 'em once a month. I d change my pillowcase more often because heads are greasy & dirty pillowcases aggravate acne/skin disorders.

It is the Esthetician in me that demands a fresh pillow case every 2-3 days.

I just shop sales & get nice linens for cheap!!

I am so tired of all these cheesy Vampire-themed movies and shows that keep coming out. Since when did Vampires...undead monsters that feed on human blood...become romantic, brooding, mysterious, and...errr...sexy??
Okay, I realize this is not a new development. Anne Rice certainly did her part back in the 90's and speaking of the 90's, Angel from Buffy could easily be crowned "King of Brooding". However,...

Happy Halloween!
Hows it going?
uffek:
recently a newspaper here in Denmark had an article saying that parents should be concerned if they have teenagers, who are into the whole goth, subculture scene, if their children were becoming more and more interested in the darker side of all these things like vampire books and stories. Because it is being romanticized giving up your mortal life etc.

Btw, it is hinted in comments to the article, that there's nothing wrong with books - they are not the ones that make people kill themselves smile

Hey fellow geeks and nerds!

Comic Con 2010 passes are already starting to sell out! Yup, in fact, the 4 day pass + preview night is already completely sold out. All that is left is the regular 4 day pass and I'm guessing those aren't going to last long.
So if you are planning to make it out to Comic Con this year....you might want...
