I went out to Shampoo tonight...much like any other Wednesday night...to do my little box dancing performance. Most people in the area know me better as the "chick that dances on the box at Shampoo" then anything else. I *really* wish I could adopt one of your adults!!! Rats are *fabulous* pets, but Alberta is rat free and I haven't been able to have one in almost a decade!!! Rat free. Pah. What the hell does THAT mean?? All I can picture when I hear that is a little 6 inch chain link fence with razor wire on top, all the way around the province... and all the gates being guarded by cats who meet the poor little rats on the BC and Sask borders with stern glares and big sticks, and the little rat immigrant hopefuls have no choice but to turn around with tears in their eyes, their little suitcases in hand.

I worked in the pet industry for years and shuddered every time another 6 yr old came in to pick out one of those satanic little dwarf hammies, knowing full well it would just gnaw on the child. <sigh> I guess I have to move out of crappy Alberta if I ever want one though!!
