I have a suggestion. When I cut my own hair, I say that the uneven hairlines, mismatched sideburns, and raggedy edges are implicity critiques of the mastery paradigm inherent in the term 'barber'. It makes me feel like I'm challenging the patriarchy. May I suggest you do so as well?

If the guys in Interpol can unironically revive the teardrop, maybe you could revive the late 80's skater girl/long on top, shaved underneath style? It would make the gouge marks even more fashionable.
